''Naguva Hoovu'' ( kn, ನಗುವ ಹೂವು) is a 1971 Indian Kannada language film, directed by cinematographer R. N. K. Prasad, produced by actor R. N. Sudarshan and written by actress Shylashri. Besides Sudarshan and Shylashri, the film stars K. S. Ashwath, Ranga, R. Nagendra Rao and B. V. Radha in pivotal roles. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada at the 18th National Film Awards. The film had musical score and soundtrack composed by G. K. Venkatesh to the lyrics of R. N. Shylashri
Shylashri is an Indian actress who acted in Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam cinema. She was awarded the Rajyotsava Award in 2019 for her contributions to Kannada Cinema. Shylashri is known to be one of 3 daughters of a classical musician, Veena Gnanambal, who taught music in Annamalai University. Career Shylashri began her career with a small role in the Kannada film ''Sandhya Raga'', released in 1966. She has acted as heroine and a supporting actress in many Kannada movies. The National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada is one of the National Film Awards presented annually by the Directorate of Film Festivals, the organization set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India. It is one of several awards presented for feature films and awarded with Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus). The National Film Awards, established in 1954, are the most prominent film awards in India that merit the best of the Indian cinema. Balakrishna (Kannada Actor)
Tirumakudalu Narasipura Balakrishna (2 November 1911 – 18 July 1995), commonly known an T. N. Balakrishna or Balanna, was an Indian actor in the Kannada film industry. He was said to have a hearing problem and some say that he was totally deaf. However, he would catch the lip movements of the artists and would narrate the dialogues spontaneously. Thoogudeepa Srinivas
Mysore Srinivas (17 April 1943 – 16 October 1995), known by his stage name Thoogudeepa Srinivas was an Indian actor who appeared in Kannada films and is remembered for his portrayal of negative-shaded characters. He is the father of actor, Darshan and film director Dinakar. Early life Srinivas was born to Muniswami and Parvathamma in 1943 as their fourth son. He had eight siblings. He lost his parents at a young age. Right from his childhood days, Srinivas was interested in theatre and cinema and was a regular participant in his school and college plays. During one of these plays, he caught the eye of another theatre artist M. P. Shankar, whom he later went on to star with in many Kannada films.
