Naganna
B. Naganna is an Indian film director and writer working in Kannada cinema. He is the son of acclaimed producer and distributor R. Lakshman. After working as an associate director in the K. S. L. Swamy directorial '' Jimmy Gallu'' in 1982, Naganna debuted as a director through the film '' Samrat'' in 1994. His well-known movies include '' O Premave'' (1999), ''Kotigobba'' (2001), ''Gokarna'' (2003), ''Vishnu Sena'' (2005) and '' Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna'' (2012). For the historical drama, ''Sangolli Rayanna'', he won the Best director award at the Times of India film awards. ''Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna'' (Legendary warrior Sangolli Rayanna) is a 2012 Indian Kannada-language war film directed by Naganna and produced by Anand Appugol. Darshan, Jaya Prada and Nikita Thukral play lead roles. The film is about Sangolli Rayanna, a prominent freedom fighter from Karnataka, who fought the East India Company till he was captured and executed in 1830. ''Gimmick'' is an 2019 Indian Kannada-language comedy horror film, directed by Naganna and produced by Deepak Samidurai under the banner of Samy Pictures. The film starring Ganesh, Ronica Singh, Chi. Guru Dutt, Shobaraj, Ravishankar Gowda and Sundar Raj is a remake of 2016 Tamil film '' Dhilluku Dhuddu''. The film marks Ronica Singh's debut in the Kannada film industry. Kurukshetra (2019 Film)
''Kurukshetra'' is a 2019 Indian Kannada-language mythological war film written by J. K. Bharavi and directed by Naganna. The story is based on the epic poem ''Gadhayuddha'' by Ranna, which itself is based on the Indian epic ''Mahabharata''. The story is centred on Duryodhana, the Kaurava king. The film was produced by Munirathna. The film features an ensemble cast including Darshan, Ambareesh (his final role), V. Ravichandran, P. Ravishankar, Arjun Sarja, Meghana Raj, Sneha, Sonu Sood, Danish Akhtar Saifi, Nikhil Kumar, Haripriya and Shashikumar, portraying characters from ''Mahabharata''. ''O Premave'' is a 1999 Indian Kannada-language romance drama film directed by Naganna. The film stars V. Ravichandran along with Rambha, Doddanna and Srinivasa Murthy in prominent roles. Telugu actor Srihari made his debut in Kannada cinema with this film. Kotigobba
''Kotigobba'' () is a 2001 Indian Kannada-language action film starring Vishnuvardhan, Priyanka Upendra and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film was a remake of Rajinikanth's 1995 Tamil film ''Baashha''. This movie was directed by Naganna and features soundtrack from Deva who also composed the music for the Tamil version. Released on 16 November 2001, the film met with very good reviews and was declared as one of the biggest blockbusters completing a successful 30 weeks at the box office and the success function was held at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall in Bengaluru on Saturday, 16 March 2002. In 2012, director Suresh Krissna who made the original version announced that he would be making a sequel to this film in Kannada language. ''Dubai Babu'' is a 2009 Kannada-language film directed by Naganna, and produced by Shailendra Babu under ''Shri Shailendra Productions''. The film is a remake of Telugu film ''Dubai Seenu''. It stars Upendra, Nikitha and Saloni Aswani in the lead roles. Story ''Dubai Babu'' revolves around Babu (Upendra) whose only aim is to fly to Dubai and get rich.
