Naft Al-Shamal Sport Club ( ar, نادي نفط الشمال الرياضي), is an Iraqi football team based in Kirkuk, that plays in the Iraq Division Three. History The original Sharikat Naft Al-Shamal team (Northern Oil Company) was established in 1948, and its name was later changed to Al-Amaliyat Al-Naftiya Al-Mahdouda. Naft Al-Shamal SC was founded in 1977, and its name was later changed to Wahid Huzairan. In 2017, it returned to the name Naft Al-Shamal. In addition to the fact that the club has a team that plays in the Iraq Division Three, it also has another team that plays in the Kurdistan Premier League. Kurdistan Premier League
The Kurdistan Premier League is the foremost association football league in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It is overseen by the Iraqi Kurdistan Football Association. The league is not officially recognized by FIFA or any of its confederations, therefore cannot compete in their continental or intercontinental competitions. The season runs from August and finishes in May, with each playing twenty six matches each. During the season, clubs compete for the Kurdistan Cup, which follows with the Kurdistan Super Cup, a contest held between league winners and the cup winners. 2020–21 Iraqi Women's Football League
The 2020–21 Iraqi Women's Football League was the second season of the Iraqi Women's Football League, and the first since the 2015–16 campaign. The season started on 31 December 2020 and ended on 12 April 2021. Naft Al-Shamal were crowned champions of the league by winning all six of their games. The 2021–22 Iraq FA Cup is the 33rd edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football, featuring a record 168 clubs from the top four tiers of the Iraqi football league system, (20 from the Iraqi Premier League, 24 from the Iraq Division One and 124 from the Iraq Division Two and Iraq Division Three). The competition began on 10 September 2021 with the first-round matches involving teams from the third and fourth tiers, and will conclude in 2022 with the final at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad.
