''Nadia Naked'' is the debut album by South African rapper Nadia Nakai. The album was released on June 2, 2019, by Family Tree Records. It features guest appearances by Cassper Nyovest, Khuli Chana, Kwesta, Lady Zamar, Tshego and Stefflon Don. Background In 2016, Nakai released her first EP, titled ''Bragga'', and signed a new record deal with Family Tree Records. Three years later, she explained that she wanted to create a personal album rather than repeating her earlier party songs. Artwork and title The artwork used for the album was shot by Jiten Ramlal and designed by Jabu Nkosi. The album cover features Nakai nude. On May 3, 2019, Nakai revealed the title and the release date of the album on Twitter. Nakai has said that the title combines her name and the idea that her performances are so emotionally revealing that she seems "naked". Nadia Nakai Kandava (née Dlamini; born 18 May 1990), is a South African-born Zimbabwean rapper and television personality. Early life and education Nakai was born in South Africa. Her father is South African and her mother is Zimbabwean. When she was 16 years old, her surname was changed from her father's to her mother's. Nakai attended Fourways High School in Johannesburg for a year then finished her schooling in Kenya. She later studied a degree in marketing, communication, and media studies at Monash University, Johannesburg. Refiloe Maele Phoolo (born 16 December 1990), professionally known as Cassper Nyovest, is a South African rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, record producer and amateur boxer. Born and raised in Mahikeng, North West, he is regarded as one of the most successful artists in South Africa. In 2014, he established his own record label, Family Tree Records. Nyovest rose to fame with the release of his debut studio album, ''Tsholofelo'' (2014) which produced the hit singles "Gusheshe" and " Doc Shebeleza". Benn Gilbert Kamoto (born 14 June 1990), better known by his stage name Gemini Major, is a Malawian-born South African record producer and singer-songwriter. He was signed to Family Tree Records, a South African independent record label found by Cassper Nyovest. Early life and career Gemini Major finished high school in 2007 and graduated in I.T. in 2009. In the same year, he moved to Durban, South Africa to pursue his dream as an artist and record producer. Khulane Morule (born August 27, 1982), better known by his stage name Khuli Chana, is a South African Motswako rapper. Early life and career Morule was born in the Mmabatho, North West Province and started rapping motswako at a young age. He was a member of a rap group called Morafe. He then proceeded to go solo, after the rap group took a break from releasing music as a unit. Khuli Chana rose to fame after releasing his major successful album ''Motswakoriginator'', which infuses both the Setswana and English languages. Senzo Brikka Vilakazi (born 11 August 1988) known professionally as Kwesta, is a South African people, South African rapper and songwriter. Born in Katlehong, Gauteng, a township also known as "K1".
