''Doctors'' is a British medical soap opera which began broadcasting on BBC One on 26 March 2000. Set in the fictional West Midlands town of Letherbridge, the soap follows the lives of the staff and patients of the Mill Health Centre, a fictional NHS doctor's surgery, as well as its sister surgery located at a nearby university campus. Miles Anderson (born 23 October 1947) is a British stage and screen actor, born in the colony of Southern Rhodesia, who has appeared in television serials both in the United Kingdom, and North America. He recently appeared as Alistair the photographer in the film ''La La Land''. In 2021 he played 'Lennox' in Joel Coen's ''The Tragedy of Macbeth'' with Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand. Elisabeth Dermot Walsh (born 15 September 1974) is an English actress, known for her role as Zara Carmichael in the BBC soap opera ''Doctors (2000 TV series), Doctors''. In 2015, she won Best Female Acting Performance at the RTS Awards, RTS Midlands Awards for her portrayal of Zara. Early life Born in Merton, London (parish), Merton, Walsh is the daughter of Irish actor Dermot Walsh and English actress Elisabeth Madeleine Annear. She has a sister, Olivia, and, from her father's previous marriages, a half-sister, Sally, and a half-brother, Michael. Walsh was educated at West Heath School in Sevenoaks, Kent. Dr. Zara Carmichael is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera '' Doctors'', portrayed by Elisabeth Dermot Walsh. Zara was introduced as the new general practitioner at the fictional Mill Health Centre on 4 June 2009 and remained a regular character until April 2012 when Walsh left to go on maternity leave. Dr. Daniel Granger is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''Doctors'', portrayed by Matthew Chambers. Daniel was introduced as a general practitioner at the Mill Health Centre on 9 July 2007. Adrian Lewis Morgan (born 15 February 1973) is a Welsh actor, known for portraying the role of Jimmi Clay in the BBC soap opera ''Doctors''. Having appeared since 2005, he is the longest serving cast member on ''Doctors''. Early life Morgan was born in Beddau on 15 February 1972, and has one sister. Morgan attended Llantwit Fardre School, Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School, and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. At the age of 17, Morgan worked in a hotel serving breakfasts, but left the job after two weeks. In 1998, Morgan was involved in a car accident.
