''Nadi Theke Sagare'' (Bengali: নদী থেকে সাগরে) () is a 1978 Bengali feature film directed by Arabinda Mukhopadhyay. The film was written by Prasanta Chowdhury. The screenplay was written by Sunil Gangopadhyay and Arabinda Mukhopadhyay. It stars Soumitra Chatterjee, Sandhya Roy, Debashree Roy, Mithun Chakraborty, Chhaya Devi, Rabi Ghosh and Anup Kumar. Debashree Roy was credited as Rumki Roy in the film. The music of the film was composed by Hemanta Mukherjee with lyrics penned by Pulak Bandyopadhyay and Arabinda Mukhopadhyay. Debashree Roy (born 8 August 1962), also known as Debasree Roy, is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, politician and animal rights activist. As an actress, she is known for her work in Hindi and Bengali cinema. She has been cited as the reigning queen of Bengali commercial cinema. Gita Dey (5 August 1931 – 17 January 2011) was an Indian actress in Bengali cinema, theatre and Bengali folk theater. She became a stage artist at the age of 6 years. She came to the film industry in 1943. Her first film release was ''Ahuti'' (1941) as a child actress. She acted in over two hundred Bengali language films and over two thousand stage shows. Sulata Chowdhury (1945 – 16 September 1997) was a Bengali actress and theatre personality. Chowdhury made her film debut with ''Debarshi Narader Sansar'' (1960). As a leading actress her first film was Sudhir Mukherjee's ''Shesh Paryanta'' (1960) which was a prominent success at the box office. Early life Choudhury was born as Maya Roychowdhury in 1945 in Kolkata, British India. Her father's name was Atal Chandra Roychowdhury. She had passion in dancing and singing since childhood. Pulak Bandyopadhyay (; 2 May 1931 – 7 September 1999) was a Bengali Indian lyricist and songwriter of Bengali cinema. Early life He was born and brought up in Salkia, Howrah.
