Nadhmi Al-Nasr
Nadhmi A. Al-Nasr is the CEO of NEOM project and is the former Executive Vice-President for Administration and Finance at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and had held this office since 2008. He was born in 1956 in Saihat. He was the interim president of the institution in 2006 when the university was still in infancy. Education In 1978, he obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from KFUPM in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Career He joined Saudi Aramco in 1978. In 1991, he managed the massive expansion program in the Ghawar oilfield, to fill the production gap caused by the loss of oil output from Iraq and Kuwait during the Gulf War. Later he held many managerial positions including the management of Shaybah Development Project. Saihat
Saihat City ( ar, سيهات) is a city located on the east coast of Saudi Arabia, with a population of 100,000 in 2005. History The oldest documents concerning Saihat, which are more than 400 years old, say that Saihat was under the division of Dhahran. During the Ottoman Empire, the cities under Dhahran included Saihat, Bankat, Asseeh, and Aljabba. People in that region built the city of Sawhat on the remains of the old city Avan. This name was mentioned in Al-Musadi's book (التبية والإشراف). The city was renamed Saihat in more modern times. In English the name of Saihat has various spellings. Dhahran
Dhahran ( ar, الظهران, ''Al-Dhahran'') is a city located in the Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. With a total population of 240,742 as of 2021, it is a major administrative center for the Saudi oil industry. Together with the nearby cities of Dammam and Khobar, Dhahran forms part of the Dammam Metropolitan Area, which is commonly known as greater Dammam and has an estimated population of 4,140,000 as of 2012. Large oil reserves were first identified in the Dhahran area in 1931, and in 1935, American company Standard Oil drilled the first commercially viable oil well. Neom
Neom (styled NEOM; ''Neom,'' ) is a city being built in Tabuk Province in northwestern Saudi Arabia. It is planned to incorporate smart city technologies and function as a tourist destination. The site is north of the Red Sea, east of Egypt across the Gulf of Aqaba, and south of Jordan. It is planned to cover a total area of , extending 170 kilometres along the coast of the Red Sea. Saudi Arabia aimed to complete major parts of the project by 2020, with an expansion completed in 2025, but it is behind schedule. The project has an estimated cost of $500 billion. On January 29, 2019, Saudi Arabia announced that it had set up a closed joint-stock company named Neom. Ghawar (Arabic: الغوار) is an oil field located in Al-Ahsa Governorate, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. Shaybah
Shaybah, also called as Zararah, is a settlement dominated by a major crude oil production oil site, the Shaybah oil field, in Saudi Arabia, located approximately from the northern edge of the Rub' Al-Khali ("Empty Quarter") desert. It is about south of the border to Abu Dhabi (Emirate), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, which is a straight line drawn in the desert. It is south of the eastern part of Abu Dhabi's Liwa Oasis.
