The Nadas
The Nadas are a folk rock quintet based in Des Moines, Iowa. Formed in 1995 in Ames, Iowa, the band earned early success on the local college scene, eventually becoming the house band for People's Bar and Grill in Ames. Their lineup currently consists of guitarist/vocalist Mike Butterworth, guitarist/vocalist Jason Walsmith, bassist Brian Duffey, drummer Brandon Stone, and violist/keyboardist Jonanne Tucker. History Their initial success resulted in the first of seven albums, titled, "Not A Sound,"—a phonetic allusion to the band's name. Péter Nádas (born 14 October 1942) is a Hungarian writer, playwright, and essayist. Biography He was born in Budapest into a Jewish family, the son of László Nádas (originally Nussbaum) and Klára Tauber. After the takeover of the Hungarian Nazis, the Arrow Cross Party on 15 October 1944, Klára Tauber escaped with her son to Bačka and Novi Sad, but returned to the capital directly before the Siege of Budapest. Péter Nádas survived the siege together with his mother in the flat of his uncle, the journalist Pál Aranyossi. Even though his parents were illegal Communists during World War II and involved with the Communist administration later on, as well, they had both their sons—Péter and Pál—baptized in the Reformed (Calvinist) Church of Pozsonyi Street. His mother died of an illness when he was 13. Tamás Nádas
Tamás Nádas (20 March 1969 – 7 March 2014) was a Hungarian aerobatics pilot and world champion air racer. He was born on 20 March 1969 in Hungary, and died when his plane crashed at an airshow in Qatar on 7 March 2014. History In 1998 at the age of 29 Nádas got into connection with flying thanks to a pleasure flight. He liked it so much that he started his pilot course that day. After a few months he got his license. He was not satisfied with all this so he got into a Z-142 and continued his aviation career with aerobatics. His complete aerobatics training ended in 2001. He flew YAK-18, YAK-52 and Z-726, then single-seat machines: YAK-55M, ACRO-230, CAP-231, Z-50LS and he made the audience of several Hungarian events happy.
