Nacional De Benguela
Clube Nacional de Benguela, founded on June 24, 1920, as Sports Clube Portugal de Benguela or simply Portugal de Benguela, is a sports club from Benguela, Angola. The Elephants won five titles during the then overseas province of Angola. Even before Angola's independence in 1975, the club's name was changed to Sports Club Nacional de Benguela. In 1979, the club, then Clube Nacional de Benguela, was one of the founders of Angola's premier football league (Girabola), in which season it finished as the runner-up by losing to Primeiro de Agosto 2–1 in the final. The club has been banned by FIFA from entering any official competition until a debt with former coach Álvaro Magalhães is settled. Stadium Nacional de Benguela is the owner of Estádio São Filipe. Académica Petróleos do Lobito, usually known as Académica Lobito, are a football (soccer) club from Lobito, Angola. The club was founded in 1970 as Académica da Chilimba by Mr. Geraldo Guiado and a few associates. In 1981, a sponsoring deal with Angolan state-owned oil company Sonangol resulted in the club's name to be changed to the current designation. They are competing in 2009 in the Girabola. Mauro Alexandre de Silva Almeida (born 29 January 1982) is a Portuguese footballer. He started his career with top Portuguese side FC Porto, where he failed to make a first team appearance, before moving to Estrela Amadora where he stayed for two seasons. He then left to join Dutch side FC Zwolle in January 2004, where he played for a year before leaving to play for Bulgarian top division club Vihren Sandanski. He was released, but was spotted by Accrington Stanley shortly after, during a mid-season training trip to Spain. He left Stanley at the end of the season. He signed for Swindon Town at the end of August 2007, and made his debut against Brentford in the JP Trophy on 4 September. Estrela Clube Primeiro de Maio, usually known simply as Primeiro de Maio or 1º de Maio, is a football (soccer) club from Benguela, Angola. The club was the result of a merger from two clubs: Estrela Vermelha de Benguela and Grupo Desportivo 1º de Maio being then named África Têxtil 1º de Maio de Benguela due to its then major sponsor, a Benguela-based textile factory called África Têxtil. Shortly afterwards, the name was changed to its present denomination. In its golden years, in the 1980s, the club has won two Angolan leagues (1983 and 1985), three Angolan cups (1982, 1983 and 2007) and one Angolan supercup (1985). Moreover, Primeiro de Maio became in 1994, the first Angolan club to reach the final of a CAF competition and to win the Angola Cup and the Angola Super Cup.
