Nacho Novo
Ignacio Javier Gómez Novo (; born 26 March 1979) is a Spanish former association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. Novo is currently an assistant coach for USL League One side Lexington SC, as well as the head coach for the club's U–23 team. He transferred from SD Huesca, Huesca to Scottish club Raith Rovers F.C., Raith Rovers in 2001 and Dundee F.C., Dundee a year later. In July 2004, he moved to Rangers F.C., Rangers for £450,000. During his first season at the club he scored 25 goals and won a 2004–05 Scottish Premier League, league and 2005 Scottish League Cup Final, League Cup double. He had to wait four years before lifting the league championship again in the 2008–09 Scottish Premier League, 2008–09 season, where he also scored the winning goal in the 2009 Scottish Cup Final which won him his second double with the Ibrox club. 2004–05 Scottish Premier League
The 2004–05 Scottish Premier League was won by Rangers, who claimed the title on the final day of the season by a single point from Celtic, who had gone into the final fixtures leading and were still ahead in the closing minutes of their last game against Motherwell until they conceded two goals (both scored by striker Scott McDonald), costing them the title with Rangers winning their match against Hibernian in Edinburgh.
