Nabil Al Fadl
Nabil Al Fadl (1949 – December 22, 2015) was a Kuwaiti politician who was a member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly and a columnist with the Al-Watan newspaper. The National Assembly ( ar, مجلس الأمة) is the unicameral legislature of Kuwait. The National Assembly meets in Kuwait City. Political parties are illegal in Kuwait, candidates run as independents. Ahmad Al-Saadoun
Ahmed Abdulaziz al-Sadoun ( ar, أحمد عبدالعزيز السعدون) (born 1934) is the Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly from October 2022. He was previously the speaker from 1985 to 1999 and from February 2012 until it was declared that the February 2012 elections were invalid. He is the leader of the Popular Action Bloc in the Assembly and served for eight terms. He represented the third district. Al-Sadoun worked in the ministry of communication before being elected to the National Assembly in 1975. Al-Sadoun is a real estate executive. Musallam Al-Barrak ( ar, مسلم محمد البراك) is a Kuwaiti politician. He was a member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, representing the fourth district. Background Born on January 30, 1956, Al-Barrak studied geography and worked in the Municipal Council before being elected to the National Assembly in 1996. Al-Barrak affiliates with the Popular Action Bloc. Al-Barrak had been elected for six consecutive terms, making him the longest-serving member of parliament. Kuwaiti Muslims
Islam is the main religion of the citizens of Kuwait and the majority of Kuwaiti citizens are Muslim; it is estimated that 70%–75% are Sunni and 25%–30% are Shias. In 2001, there were an estimated 525,000 Sunni Kuwaiti citizens and 300,000 Shia Kuwaiti citizens. In 2002, the US Department of State reported that Shias formed 30%-40% of Kuwait's citizen population, noting there were 525,000 Sunni Kuwaiti citizens and 855,000 Kuwaiti citizens in total (61% Sunnis, 39% Shias). In 2004, there were an estimated 600,000 Sunni Kuwaiti citizens, 300,000-350,000 Shia Kuwaiti citizens and 913,000 Kuwaiti citizens in total. Some other minor Muslim sects do exist in Kuwait's society, but in very small or rare numbers. There are no estimates of the number of non-citizen Muslims.
