Nabi Chowdhury
Nurunnabi Chowdhury ( bn, নুরুন্নবী চৌধুরী; 1934 – January 2003), better known as Nabi Chowdhury, was a former Bangladeshi association football, football player and the first East Pakistani or Bengalis, Bengali to captain the Pakistan national football team. Early life Nabi Chowdhury was born in Aziz Fazilpur village in the Feni District, Feni sub-division of Noakhali District, Bengal Presidency, Bengal. Club career Nabi served in the Pakistan Air Force and represented Pakistan Air Force FC from 1952 to 1953 while simultaneously playing in the Cumilla Football League with Pak United. In the National Football Championship (Pakistan), National Football Championship, he played for East Pakistan from 1957 to 1960, winning the title in his final year, after which he began representing Chittagong Division. Feni District
Feni is a district located in southeastern Bangladesh. It was a part of the Greater Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Tripura. , the district's estimated population stood at 1,437,371, making it the ninth-most populous district in Chittagong Division. The administrative hub of the district is in Feni City, which also serves as the headquarters of Feni Sadar Upazila in the central section of the district. The British Newspaper Archive web site provides access to searchable digitized archives of British and Irish newspapers. It was launched in November 2011. History The British Library Newspapers section was based in Colindale in north London, until 2013, and is now divided between the St Pancras and Boston Spa sites. The library has an almost complete collection of British and Irish newspapers since 1840. This is partly because of the legal deposit legislation of 1869, which required newspapers to supply a copy of each edition of a newspaper to the library. London editions of national daily and Sunday newspapers are complete back to 1801. In total, the collection consists of 660,000 bound volumes and 370,000 reels of microfilm containing tens of millions of newspapers with 52,000 titles on 45 km of shelves. East Pakistan was a Pakistani province established in 1955 by the One Unit Scheme, One Unit Policy, renaming the province as such from East Bengal, which, in modern times, is split between India and Bangladesh.
