Nabeshin
is a Japanese anime director and voice actor. He is best known for his over-the-top adaptation of Rikdo Koshi's ''Excel Saga'', in which he appears as the character Nabeshin. Watanabe stated that the nickname Nabeshin (a name blending of "nabe" in Watanabe and "shin" in Shinichi) came to him from God. About his unique appearance (dressing similar to the character Arsène Lupin III) Watanabe said he grew out his afro and started wearing bright clothing in order to stand out and get attention. Puni Puni Poemy
is a Japanese two-part original video animation spin-off from the ''Excel Saga'' manga and anime television series. It features some of that series' secondary characters and many of its staff, primarily director Shinichi Watanabe. Like ''Excel Saga'', it is a parody of other anime, manga and various aspects of popular culture, though in this case with the magical girl genre providing its primary focus and general structure. The series was originally an in-joke from an episode of ''Excel Saga''; Watanabe decided to take the in-joke to its most extreme logical conclusion, creating the series. is a picture book series written by Shiro Yadama. Some books were translated into English by Keith Holman. The book is about a boy named Noriyasu Hatakeyama who starts writing "tomorrow's" journal entries when he finds out the days start happening just the way he writes them. A 30-minute animated film was created by Oh! Production and Gakken and released on August 23, 1988. An animated television series animated by Group TAC aired on TV Tokyo from July 3, 1997 to September 29, 1998. It was rebroadcast on Tokyo MX from May 6, 2011 to July 29, 2011. Excel Saga
is a manga series written and illustrated by Kōshi Rikudō. It was serialized in '' Young King OURs'' from 1996 to 2011, and its individual chapters were collected and published in 27 ''tankōbon'' volumes by Shōnen Gahōsha. The series follows the attempts of Across, a "secret ideological organization", to conquer the city of Fukuoka as a first step towards world domination. The title character of the series, Excel, is a key member of the group who is working towards completing this goal, while the city is being defended by a shadowy government agency led by Dr. Kabapu. The manga was adapted into an anime television series by Victor Entertainment, which was taglined . Nerima Daikon Brothers
is a Japanese manga and anime comedy series that follows the adventures of two brothers (and their cousin) Hideki, Ichiro, and Mako who form the band, "Nerima Daikon Brothers." The show uses a musical comedy format, with the characters often breaking out in song to show their emotions or go through a montage scene. The melodies of the songs are sometimes recycled episode after episode with different lyrics substituted for the particular situation. The musical comedy format is rare in Japanese animation and the show's style is heavily influenced by musicals such as ''The Blues Brothers'' and Kollywood musicals such as '' Muthu''. Arsène Lupin III
is a fictional character created by Kazuhiko Kato aka Monkey Punch as the protagonist for his manga series ''Lupin III'', which debuted in ''Weekly Manga Action'' on August 10, 1967.
