Naan ( fa, نان, nān, ur, , ps, نان, ug, نان, hi, नान, bn, নান) is a leavened, oven-baked or tawa-fried flatbread which is found in the cuisines mainly of Western Asia, Central Asia, Indian subcontinent, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and the Caribbean. Etymology The earliest appearance of "naan" in English is from 1803 in a travelogue of William Tooke. The Persian word ''nān'' 'bread' is attested in Middle Persian as ''n'n'' 'bread, food', which is of Iranian origin, and is a cognate with Parthian ''ngn'', Kurdish ''nan'', Balochi ''nagan'', Sogdian ''nγn-'', and Pashto ''nəγan'' 'bread'. ''Naan'' may have derived from bread baked on hot pebbles in ancient Persia. The form ''naan'' has a widespread distribution, having been borrowed in a range of languages spoken in Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent, where it usually refers to a kind of flatbread (tandyr nan). ''Naan'' () is 1967 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language masala film, directed by T. R. Ramanna and written by T. N. Balu. The soundtrack was composed by T. K. Ramamoorthy. The film stars Ravichandran (Tamil actor), Ravichandran, J. Jayalalithaa, Jayalalithaa, R. Muthuraman, Muthuraman and Nagesh. It focuses on a raja's failed attempt to find his lost son, and three men who claim to be the lost son, seeking rights to the raja's properties. ''Naan'' ( en, Me) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language crime thriller film written and directed by Jeeva Shankar in his directorial debut. Composer Vijay Antony plays the lead role of a psychopathic killer; he also produced the film and worked as the music director. Siddharth Venugopal and Rupa Manjari appeared in supporting roles. The filming of ''Naan'' began in October 2011, and the film was released on 15 August 2012. The movie was remade in Bengali in 2015 as ''Amanush 2'' and in Kannada in 2016 as ''Asthitva''. Gustav Naan
Gustav Naan (russian: Густав Иоганнович Наан, ''Gustav Iogannovich Naan''; 17 May 1919 near Vladivostok – 12 January 1994 in Tallinn) was an Estonian physicist and philosopher. According to the Estonian Encyclopedia's definition, he "wrote plenty of irritating publicist articles". Gustav Naan was born in Russian SFSR in a village near Vladivostok to a family of Estonian settlers. He graduated from the Leningrad State University in 1941. He took part in World War II and joined the CPSU in 1943. Na'an
Na'an ( he, נַעַן) is a kibbutz near the city of Rehovot in Israel. Located within the Central District, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gezer Regional Council and borders the villages of Ganei Hadar, Ramot Meir and Sitria. Founded in 1930, it is the first kibbutz established by Jews born in Eretz Israel. Kibbutz Naan is the largest kibbutz in Israel in terms of population. History British period The Na'an kibbutz was founded in September 1930 by 42 members of the Noar HaOved youth group, on lands purchased from the Palestinian village of Al-Na'ani.
