''NYPD Blue'' is an American police procedural television series set in New York City, exploring the struggles of the fictional 15th Precinct detective squad in Manhattan. Diane Russell (NYPD Blue)
Diane Russell is a fictional character in the television series ''NYPD Blue''. She was played by Kim Delaney in Season 2 as a recurring character, from Seasons 3 to 8 as a primary character, and a recurring character again in Seasons 10 and 11. Biography While working a case with Bobby Simone, Russell and he became attracted to each other and began a personal relationship, which became complicated when she transferred to the 15th squad and they became co-workers. Stephen Gaghan
Stephen Gaghan (; born May 6, 1965) is an American screenwriter and director. He is noted for writing the screenplay for Steven Soderbergh's film ''Traffic'', based on a Channel 4 series, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as ''Syriana'' which he wrote and directed. He also wrote and directed the thriller '' Abandon'' and the family film '' Dolittle'', and directed the drama ''Gold''. Childhood and education Gaghan was born in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of the former Elizabeth Jane Whorton and her first husband, Stephen Gaghan (d. 1980), and a stepson of Tom Haag. Gaghan attended Kentucky Country Day School, a college preparatory school in Louisville. He was an All-State soccer player where he held the assist record at the school for nearly three decades. Leonard Gardner (born 3 November 1933) is an American novelist, short story writer, and screenwriter.
