New York’s 31st congressional district was a congressional district for the United States House of Representatives in New York. It was eliminated as a result of the 2000 Census. It was last represented by Amo Houghton who was redistricted into the 29th District. Ontario County is a county in the U.S. State of New York. As of the 2020 census, the population was 112,458. The county seat is Canandaigua. Ontario County is part of the Rochester, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county was named in honor of Richard Montgomery, an American Revolutionary War general killed in 1775 at the Battle of Quebec. With an area nearly the size of Delaware, it is the least densely populated county east of the Mississippi River. Its county seat is Lake Pleasant.
