NXT Roadblock (2024)
The 2024 NXT Roadblock was the third annual NXT Roadblock professional wrestling television special produced by WWE, and fifth Roadblock event overall. It was held for wrestlers from the promotion's NXT brand division. The event took place on March 5, 2024, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and aired live as a special episode of ''NXT'' on the USA Network. The event's title was a reference to its position on the road to NXT Stand & Deliver, NXT's WrestleMania Weekend event. Six matches were contested at the event. In the main event, Tony D'Angelo defeated Carmelo Hayes to become the #1 contender for the NXT Championship. In another prominent match, The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) defeated Tatum Paxley and Lyra Valkyria to retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, and in the opening contest, Dijak defeated Joe Gacy in an Asylum match. NXT is a WWE brand extension, brand of the American professional wrestling Professional wrestling promotion, promotion WWE that was introduced on February 23, 2010. WWE Roadblock (originally titled March to WrestleMania: Live from Toronto) was the inaugural Roadblock professional wrestling livestreaming event produced by WWE. The event aired exclusively on the WWE Network and took place on March 12, 2016, at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event's title was a reference to its position on the "Road to WrestleMania". Nine matches (including two dark matches) were contested at the event. Matrick Mondre Belton (born May 26, 1994) is an American professional wrestler and former professional football player. He is currently signed to WWE where he performs on the NXT brand under the ring name Trick Williams. He is a former one-time NXT Champion, one-time NXT North American Champion and the winner of the 2023 Men's Iron Survivor Challenge.
