NWCFA Intermediate Cup
The North Wales Coast FA Intermediate Cup is a football knockout tournament involving teams from in North Wales who play in leagues administered and associated with the North Wales Coast Football Association. Previous winners The competition was originally known as the ''North Wales Coast Amateur Cup'' ran from 1894 to 1975 with the exception of when the competition was suspended during the war years. For the 1975–76 season it was renamed the ''North Wales Coast FA Intermediate Cup'' running until the end of the 1980–81 season. The competition did not run from 1981 until the 2008–09 season when it was reintroduced. It ran again until the 2015–16 season, after which it was suspended again. Porthmadog (; ), originally Portmadoc until 1974 and locally as "Port", is a Welsh coastal town and community in the Eifionydd area of Gwynedd and the historic county of Caernarfonshire. It lies east of Criccieth, south-west of Blaenau Ffestiniog, north of Dolgellau and south of Caernarfon. The community population of 4,185 in the 2011 census was put at 4,134 in 2019. It grew in the 19th century as a port for local slate, but as the trade declined, it continued as a shopping and tourism centre, being close to Snowdonia National Park and the Ffestiniog Railway. Llansannan is a rural village and community in Conwy County Borough, Wales. It lies on the bank of the River Aled and is about 8 miles to the south of Abergele and to the west of Denbigh. The population was 1,291 in 2001, with 67% able to speak Welsh. The figures for the 2011 census were: population 1,335 with 63% able to speak Welsh. Glantraeth Football Club ( cy, Clwb Pêl Droed Glantraeth) is a football team, based on the island of Anglesey, Wales. They play in the North Wales Coast West Football League Premier Division (part of the Welsh football league system). Formed in 1984, the club began competing in the Anglesey League before progressing into the Gwynedd League and the Welsh Alliance League. The club achieved its highest ever finish during the 2005–06 season by winning the Cymru Alliance but were denied promotion to the Welsh Premier League, the highest tier of Welsh football, as their ground did not meet league requirements.
