The NU Lady Bulldogs are the women's collegiate varsity volleyball team of the National University. They compete in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). History NU Lady Bulldogs Spikers won their first in season 16 (1953–54). As of UAAP Season 84, NU Lady Bulldogs have won 3 UAAP championships (Season 16 (1953–54), Season 19 (1956–57) and Season 84 (2021–22). University Athletic Association Of The Philippines
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), established in 1938, is an athletic association of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines. The eight-member schools are Adamson University (AdU), Ateneo de Manila University (ATENEO), De La Salle University (DLSU), Far Eastern University (FEU), National University (Philippines), National University (NU), University of the East (UE), University of the Philippines Diliman (UP), and the University of Santo Tomas (UST). Rica Diolan
Rica Diolan is a Filipino volleyball player. She played for the NU Lady Bulldogs Volleyball Team in the UAAP in UAAP Season 78. She will play for the BaliPure Purest Water Defenders in the 2018 PVL season. Career Diolan played for the U-17 team of the Philippines women's national volleyball team which competed in the 2014 Asian Youth Girls Volleyball Championship. They finished 7th among 13 teams in the 2014 Asian Youth Girls Volleyball Championship. They defeated Australia and India while losing to China in straight sets in the Group C stage. In the Qualifying Round, the team lost to Thailand while winning against New Zealand in 4 sets. In the Quarterfinals, they lost to South Korea. In the 5th–8th place playoffs, they lost to Kazakhstan in 5 sets. In the 7th place game, they won against New Zealand again. 2011 SVL Season
The 2011 Shakey's V-League (SVL) season was the eighth season of the Shakey's V-League. There were three indoor conferences in 2011 season. 1st Conference The Shakey's V-League 8th Season 1st Conference was the thirteenth conference of Shakey's V-League, a collegiate women's volleyball league in the Philippines founded in 2004. The conference started April 3, 2011 at The Arena in San Juan. The teams were divided into two groups that played a single round robin. Group A was comprised Ateneo, FEU, San Sebastian, Southwestern University, and Lyceum. Group B had Adamson, CSB, University of St. La Salle (Bacolod), UPHSD, and NU. The top four teams in each group advanced to the quarterfinal round. The eight teams were again divided into two groups and played one round. 2023 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship
The 2023 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship was the second collegiate pre-season tournament and the third tournament of the 2nd season of the Shakey's Super League. The tournament began on September 16 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre with ten teams from NCAA and six teams from UAAP. The UP Fighting Maroons and De La Salle Lady Spikers are both skipping this tournament due to rebuilding and recovery of players from injuries, respectively. 2023 Shakey's Super League National Invitationals
The 2023 Shakey's Super League National Invitationals was the inaugural edition of the national collegiate competition organized by the Shakey's Super League and the second SSL tournament of 2023. 2022 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship
The 2022 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship was the inaugural tournament of Shakey's Super League. The tournament was held on September 24 to November 19, 2022, at Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Manila. It features 18 collegiate teams from the two most prominent collegiate athletics associations in the country — NCAA and UAAP. NU Lady Bulldogs defeated De La Salle Lady Spikers (3–0) in the championship match and crowned as the inaugural champions of the tournament. De La Salle Lady Spikers settled for silver. UAAP Season 84 Women's Volleyball Tournament
The UAAP Season 84 volleyball tournaments was the volleyball event of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines for its 2021–22 school year. This was the first completed tournament since 2019. The men's, boys' and girls' volleyball tournaments were not held due to the pandemic. The games were held at the Mall of Asia Arena. UAAP Season 84
UAAP Season 84 was the 2021–22 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The Season 84 theme was "Fully Alive, Champions for Life" and the season's host was the De La Salle University. With the limitations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, UAAP Season 84 only held men's basketball, men's and women's 3×3 basketball, women's volleyball, men's beach volleyball, cheerdance, taekwondo poomsae; and men's and women's chess tournaments as its events for the season. UST was declared UAAP general champion based on eight sporting events. Only the men's basketball, women's volleyball, and cheerdance were televised. Risa Sato
is a Filipino-Japanese volleyball player who is currently living in the Philippines and playing in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines for the NU Lady Bulldogs and in the Premier Volleyball League for the Creamline Cool Smashers. Early life Risa Sato was born on October 4, 1994 in Osaka, Japan where she also spent her childhood. Her mother is Filipino while her father is Japanese. Sato played volleyball at school in Japan. She left Japan at age 19 along with her mother to pursue her dream to play in the Philippines. Career Sato was brought to the Philippines in 2013 to play for the collegiate varsity team of the Ateneo de Manila University by Roger Gorayeb, who was then coach of the university. She played for Ateneo as a guest player in the Shakey's V-League. However she failed to get admitted to Ateneo due to failing the entrance examinations which was written in English.
