NSC United
Minnesota NSC United was an American soccer team, founded in 2005. The team was a member of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, and played in the Midwest Conference. During its inaugural 2005 season the team played as Minnesota Blast, and were based at the SoccerBlast facility in Burnsville, Minnesota. The new incarnation of the team are affiliated with, and play their home matches at, the National Sports Center in the city of Blaine, Minnesota, 16 miles north of downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, Minneapolis. In 2006 the team's management announced that they would spend the 2007 NPSL season on hiatus. This team now no longer exists. National Premier Soccer League
The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's association football, soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. It is the successor of the Men's Premier Soccer League, a regional league originally based in the Western United States, which has now expanded nationwide to encompass teams from 29 states. The league's motto is "A National League with a Regional Focus". Competition format The National Premier Soccer League is divided into four separate regions (Northeast, South, Midwest, and West). American Soccer Pyramid
The United States soccer league system is a series of professional and amateur soccer leagues based, in whole or in part, in the United States. Sometimes called the American soccer pyramid, teams and leagues are not linked by the system of promotion and relegation typical in soccer elsewhere. Instead, the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) defines professional leagues in three levels, called divisions, with all other leagues sanctioned by the USSF not having an official designated level or division. For practical and historical reasons, some teams from Bermuda, Canada, and Puerto Rico (considered a separate country by FIFA) can also compete in these leagues. Burnsville () is a city south of downtown Minneapolis in Dakota County, Minnesota. The National Sports Center (NSC) is a multi-sport complex located in Blaine, Minnesota. Its site includes a soccer stadium, over 50 full-sized soccer fields, a golf course, a meeting and convention facility, and an eight-sheet ice rink, the Super Rink. The National Sports Center has hosted numerous National and World Championship events in soccer, hockey, figure skating, short track speedskating, broomball, rugby, ultimate frisbee and lacrosse.
