NSB Class 18
The NSB type 18 was a 2'C (4-6-0) built between 1900 and 1919 by Sächsische Maschinenfabrik and Hamar Jernstøberi for the Norwegian state railway (NSB). NSB Type 18a The saturated compounded locomotives of type 18a were used on the northern railways Røykenvikbanen ( Jaren - Røykenvik), Gjøvikbanen ( Grefsen - Gjøvik) and Skreiabanen ( Reinsvoll - Skreia). The first eight locomotives nos. 131–134 were built by the Sächsische Maschinenfabrik in 1900, nos. 135–138 followed in 1901 and nos. 157 and 158 were built by Hamar Jernstøberi in 1903. Eight of the ten locomotives, with the exception of nos. 135 and 157, were later fitted with superheaters and simple expansion and were re-designated as the type 18c. Sächsische Maschinenfabrik
The Sächsische Maschinenfabrik in Chemnitz was one of the most important engineering companies in Saxony in the second half of the 19th century and the first two decades of the 20th century. Including its various predecessor businesses, the firm existed from 1837 until its liquidation in 1930, and individual branches of the company taken over by others continued to operate until 1990. The Norwegian Railway Club ( no, Norsk Jernbaneklubb) is an association which is involved in the preservation of Norwegian museum railways. NMT has its operating base at Hønefoss Station in Ringerike, Norway. The society was founded on 22 May 1969, and is based at Bryn Station in Oslo, but with local groups all over the country. It publishes the magazine ''På Sporet'' four times a year, as well as publishing numerous books. The club also operates two heritage railways, the Old Voss Line in Bergen, and the Krøder Line. Bergen Technical Museum ( no, Bergens Tekniske Museum) is a technical museum located at Møhlenpris in Bergen, Norway. The Dovre Line ( no, Dovrebanen) is a Norwegian railway line with three slightly different lines which all lead to the historic city of Trondheim. Definition *Dovre Line is the current name of the 548 km main line of the Norwegian railway system (Jernbaneverket) between Oslo and Trondheim, used by Jernbaneverket (some times) and Vy (former NSB). *Dovre Line is also the 484 km main line between Eidsvoll and Trondheim, used by Jernbaneverket since 2008. *Dovre Line was the name of the 209 km main line between Dombås and Trondheim until 2008. Dombås
is a village or small town in Dovre Municipality in northern Innlandet county, Norway. The village serves as the commercial centre for the upper Gudbrandsdalen valley.
