Neuropilin
Neuropilin is a protein receptor active in neurons. There are two forms of Neuropilins, NRP-1 and NRP-2. Neuropilins are transmembrane glycoproteins, first documented to regulate neurogenesis and angiogenesis by complexing with Plexin receptors/class-3 semaphorin ligands and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) receptors/VEGF ligands, respectively. Neuropilins predominantly act as co-receptors as they have a very small cytoplasmic domain and thus rely upon other cell surface receptors to transduce their signals across a cell membrane. Recent studies have shown that Neuropilins are multifunctional and can partner with a wide variety of transmembrane receptors. Neuropilins are therefore associated with numerous signalling pathways including those activated by Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF), Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF), Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF), Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) and Transforming Growth Factor beta (TGFβ). Although ...

Network Resource Planning
Network Resource Planning is an enhanced process of network planning that incorporates the disciplines of business planning, marketing, and engineering to develop integrated, dynamic master plans for all domains of communications networks. Next generation services Many communications service providers - from wireline, wireless, broadband to next generation carriers - are introducing next-generation services such as interactive video over cell phones and multi-user conference calling. These new services are straining the capacity of existing networks. In a 2006 Reuterinterview John Roese, CTO of Nortel, pointed out that YouTube almost destroyed the Internet, and in a keynotspeechat Cisco’s C-Scape analyst conference in December 2006, John Chambers, CEO of Cisco Networks said, “Things like YouTube are just the baby steps of the impact video will have on networks.” Since every video transmission requires roughly 150 times the bandwidth of a voice transmission, it is estimat ...

National Standard Curriculum as defined by the Department of Transportation - National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Standards Most states use or require NREMT testing for some level of state certification. NREMT recognizes four levels of EMS: EMR, EMT, Advanced EMT, and Paramedic (some states may have additional certifications). NREMT certification at an EMT Intermediate level may or may not be sufficient for some state EMT Intermediate, EMT-I requirements. Neonatal Resuscitation Program
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program is an educational program in neonatal resuscitation that was developed and is maintained by the American Academy of Pediatrics. This program focuses on basic resuscitation skills for newly born infants. With the rollout of the seventh edition of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program to reflect the 2016 American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for resuscitation, the course format has changed considerably. In the past, a full-day course incorporated lecture, written testing and hands-the classroom time required for the course and allows instructors to focus on the practical skills needed to resuscitate the neonate. The program is intended for healthcare providers who perform resuscitation in the delivery room or newborn nursery. Providers who take the Neonatal Resuscitation Program are diverse in their scope of practice. The course outline is flexible to allow providers to complete specific modules directly related to their practice. __TOC__ Lesson ...

Navio Da República Portuguesa
''Navio da República Portuguesa'' ( Portuguese for "Ship of the Portuguese Republic"), abbreviated as N.R.P. or NRP, is a ship prefix used to identify a commissioned ship of the Portuguese Navy. During the Portuguese Monarchy era, there was no standard method for referring to the Royal Portuguese Navy's ships. After the establishment of the Portuguese Republic on 5 October 1910, all Portuguese naval ships started to be officially referred to by their name preceded by ''Navio da República Portuguesa'' or its abbreviation. After July 1981, Portuguese Navy's vessels not considered as naval ships came to be officially referred to by the prefix ''Unidade Auxiliar da Marinha'' (Navy's Auxiliary Unit), abbreviated as U.A.M. or UAM. Sometimes, some Portuguese Navy vessels are referred to by alternative prefixes that indicate their function or type, as N.E. for ''Navio-Escola'' (school ship A training ship is a ship used to train students as sailors. National Response Plan
The National Response Plan (NRP) was a United States national plan to respond to emergencies such as natural disasters or terrorist attacks. It came into effect in December 2004, and was superseded by the National Response Framework on March 22, 2008. Background The federal government first actively engaged in emergency management by passing the Congressional Relief Act of 1803, which provided relief after a devastating fire in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. For about the next 150 years, the federal government took a reactive role in emergency response until passing the Federal Civil Defense Act of 1950. No comprehensive plan for federal emergency response existed until 1979, when President Jimmy Carter signed an executive order creating the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). FEMA was first charged to absorb emergency response duties from multiple agencies with disjointed plans. In 1988 the Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act became law. The Stafford Act es ...

National Reorganization Process
The National Reorganization Process (Spanish: ''Proceso de Reorganización Nacional'', often simply ''el Proceso'', "the Process") was the military dictatorship that ruled Argentina from 1976 to 1983, in which it was supported by the United States until 1982. In Argentina it is often known simply as última junta militar ("last Military dictatorship, military junta"), última dictadura militar ("last military dictatorship") or última dictadura cívico-militar ("last civil–military dictatorship"), because there have been several in the country's history and no others since it ended. The Argentine Armed Forces seized political power during the 1976 Argentine coup d'état, March 1976 coup against the presidency of neutralist (non-Communist or non-Democratic) Isabel Perón, the successor and widow of former President Juan Perón, at a time of growing economic and political instability. National Congress of Argentina, Congress and democracy were suspended, political parties were b ...
