NOS Audiovisuais
NOS Audiovisuais (formerly ZON Lusomundo) is a Portuguese integrated media corporation founded in 1953, which has major interests in movie distribution, cinema theaters and media assets. It was founded with the purpose of movie distribution, and had a very close relation with the biggest studios (it is currently the Portuguese licensee of United International Pictures, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, Warner Home Video, Miramax Films and DreamWorks SKG). In the 1980s Lusomundo started acquiring newspapers, including ''Comércio do Porto'', ''Diário de Notícias'' and ''Jornal de Notícias''. In the early 1990s, it acquired TSF Rádio Notícias and minority stakes of TVI. In 2000, PT Multimédia made a successful takeover of Lusomundo. TVCine
TVCine is a Portuguese premium television brand used on four movie channels, operated by NOS. They showcase recent movies and premieres from all the major studios, as well as comedy, action, classic and old movies. The TVCine brand was launched on November 1, 2007, replacing the Lusomundo branding of the channels that had been launched on June 1, 2003. In May, 2009, they started to broadcast in 16:9 24-hours a day, instead of the old 4:3 format. Global Media Group (formerly Controlinveste) is a Portuguese Mass media, media holding company founded by Portuguese sports Business magnate, mogul and FC Porto Sociedade Anónima Desportiva, S.A.D.'s shareholder Joaquim Oliveira. ''Jornal de Notícias (JN)'' (; meaning ''News Journal'' in English) is a Portuguese daily national newspaper, one of the oldest in Portugal.
