Film Development Board
The Film Development Board is a government body responsible for the development and promotion of motion picture sector in Nepal. The board is under the Ministry of Information and Communication Nepal. History Film Development Board (FDB) was established on 30 June 2000 by the Government of Nepal according to the Clause 10a of Motion Picture (Production, Exhibition and Distribution) Act amended on 20 November 1991 with the mandate of first, look after the research, planning and development, production, library and archive, film festivals and international relations. National Film Awards (Nepal)
The National Film Awards is the most prominent and prestigious award of Nepali cinema. The first National Film Award was held in 2005, in the presence of His Majesty's King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah. The event is held at the residence of the president of Nepal and the president (as a Head of Nation) gives the awards to the winners in various categories. It is yearly organised by Film Development Board, Nepal (government organisation, which looks after film industry of Nepal). National Film Awards 2005 (2062 BS) The Film Development Board of Nepal organized the National Film Awards 2005 at Birendra International Convention Center, Kathmandu, Nepal. Nepali Cinema, also referred to as "''Nepali Chalachitra''" ( ne, नेपाली चलचित्र) in Nepali, is the filmmaking industry in Nepal. This includes films in various languages of Nepal, most notably in Nepali, Maithili and Bhojpuri.
