''NBA Jam 2000'' is a sports Nintendo 64 game developed by Acclaim Studios Salt Lake City as licensed basketball simulation for the 1999–2000 NBA season. It also contained elements of the classic ''NBA Jam'' series in Jam Mode. The rosters were accurate as of October 16, 1999. All photos and video used are from the 1998–1999 NBA season. It was announced on June 16, 1999. The cover features former Sacramento Kings power forward Chris Webber. The game also features Kevin Harlan on play-by-play with Marv Albert as the studio host. Acclaim Entertainment was an American video game publisher from Long Island, active from 1987 until filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on September 1, 2004. Through a series of acquisitions between 1990 and 2002, Acclaim built itself a large portfolio of subsidiaries acting in the fields of development and publishing. Dan Roberts (announcer)
Dan Roberts is an American public address announcer best known for his work for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association. He has held this position since 1979, the entirety of the team's stay in Utah, and is the longest tenured PA announcer in the NBA. Throughout each Utah Jazz game, Roberts is known to address the Vivint Smart Home Arena crowd by asking, "How 'bout this jazz?". His favorite Jazz basketball player is Karl Malone, whose baskets he announced by saying, "The Mailman delivers!" Dan's son, Jeremy, is also a PA Announcer, having worked for several professional and college teams since 1998. He fills in for Dan on the few occasions he misses a game; to date Dan has missed fewer than 10 games in 41 years as the Jazz announcer.
