Mónica Santa María
Mónica Janette Santa María Smith (6 December 1972 – 13 March 1994) was a Peruvian model and TV hostess. Born in Lima, she was one half of the original Nubeluz hostesses, a popular Peruvian children's TV show during the 1990s first lustrum. Her shocking suicide in early 1994 would affect the Nubeluz reputation, leading to the show cancellation in 1996. Early life Santa María was born in Lima to a Peruvian father (Danilo Santa María) and a Canadian mother (Judith Smith). She was the second of three sisters. She attended Colegio Nuestra Señora del Carmen, a Catholic private school in Miraflores. At the age of nine, she began modeling and landed her first TV commercial shortly thereafter. Miraflores is a district of the Lima Province in Peru. It is a residential and upscale shopping district south of downtown Lima. It is also one of the most affluent districts that make up the city of Lima. A suicide method is any means by which a person chooses to end their life. Suicide attempts do not always result in death, and a nonfatal suicide attempt can leave the person with serious physical injuries, long-term health problems, and brain damage. Nubeluz
''Nubeluz'' was a Peruvian children's show airing from 1990 to 1996. The show was produced by Peru's Panamericana Television and aired through its nationwide network (Channel 5 in Lima), who credit the General Production to Rochi Hernandez. The show was written by Alonso Alegria, Maritza Kirchhausen, Catalina Lohmann, Clara María Cavagnaro and Fernando Gagliuffi, and was usually hosted by two or three young girls called ''Dalinas'' (a possible portmanteau of "dama linda", or "pretty lady" in English).
