Mårran is a Swedish rock group formed in 2010 in Stockholm. History The band was formed in 2010 by Morgan Korsmoe and Ludwig Larsson (both born 1989). Morgan grew up playing bass in his father's band Larz Kristerz but had a heavy urge for the rock music of the 1970s and wanted to start a group playing hard rock/blues rock. Morgan and guitarist Ludwig recruited drummer Björn "Binge" Inge (born 1952) from the renowned Swedish hard rock band November (the Swedish Cream and the first band to sing hard rock in Swedish in the early 1970s), Hammond organ player Max Lorentz (known for his work as producer and musician for very many artists in Sweden and Denmark) and rock vocalist Göran Edman, world known for his work with amongst others Yngwie Malmsteen. The group decided to write their own material in their native tongue of Swedish. October 2011 saw the release of Mårran's debut CD-single "Gärdesbrud" on Blind Boyscout Records in a limited edition of 500 copies. In March 2012 ... Yngwie Johan Malmsteen ( ; born Lars Johan Yngve Lannerbäck, 30 June 1963) is a Swedish guitarist. He first became known in the 1980s for his neoclassical playing style in heavy metal, and has released 22 studio albums in a career spanning over 40 years. In 2009, ''Time'' magazine rated Malmsteen as number 9 among the 11 greatest electric guitar players of all time. Early life Malmsteen was born Lars Johan Yngve Lannerbäck in Stockholm, Sweden, the third child of a musical family. Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 and held on one Saturday (typically the third) every April and every Black Friday in November to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". November was a Swedish rock band formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1969 by Christer Stålbrandt, Richard Rolf and Björn Inge. According to svt.se, November has been called "Sweden's first hard rock/heavy metal band." History November were popular for playing "as fast as they could" and with many guitar solos, although their style did not have much in common with Speed Metal, their music was instead partly inspired by American acid rock, but also heavy and blues based as a mixture of some early Uriah Heep hits like "Bird of Prey" and "Easy Livin", Cream and Led Zeppelin. November started in 1968 at Tegelhögen, a youth club in Vällingby (a Stockholm suburb). Here, Christer Stålbrandt and Björn Inge played with two friends as The Imps.
