Måbødalen Bus Accident
The Måbødalen bus accident or Måbø Canyon bus accident was a bus crash on 15 August 1988 during the descent from Hardangervidda into the Måbø Valley on the way to Bergen, Norway. The bus collided with the concrete arch at the exit of the Måbø Tunnel on Norwegian National Road 7. Of the 34 passengers aboard, 15 were killed. In addition, the bus driver died from his injuries 12 days after the crash. Accident The bus was a Volvo B58 built in 1977 and owned by the Swedish company "All the Way". It had been chartered for a school trip, carrying fifth graders from Kista in Sweden to Bergen, where they were scheduled to continue to Shetland. Twelve of the passengers who died were children, while three were parents. The 44-year-old driver, Kent Sören Byström, was recovered alive from the wreck and was able to testify to investigators, but he succumbed from his injuries on August 27 at a hospital in Stockholm. Sierre Coach Crash
The Sierre coach crash occurred on 13 March 2012 near Sierre, Switzerland, when a Coach (bus), coach carrying school teachers and pupils crashed into a wall in the Sierre Tunnel. Of the 52 people on board, 28 were killed in the crash, including both drivers, all four teachers, and 22 of the 46 children. The other 24 pupils, all aged between 10 and 12, were injured, including three who were hospitalised with severe brain and chest injuries. The coach was one of three operated by the Aarschot-based Top Tours company and was transporting mostly Belgium, Belgian school teachers and students from a skiing holiday in Val d'Anniviers back to their two schools in Belgium. Beaune Coach Crash
The Beaune coach crash occurred on 31 July 1982 on the French A6 motorway near Beaune, in the Côte-d’Or département of east-central France. It is the second deadliest road traffic collision in France's history after the 2016 Nice truck attack. 53 people died, including 46 children (44 on the coach and 2 in a car). Most of the victims were on board a coach that caught fire as a result of the collision. The coach passengers were from Crépy-en-Valois in the Oise département of Picardy, northern France.
