Máximo Orlando Banguera Valdivieso (born 16 December 1985) is an Ecuadorian association football, footballer who plays as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper who plays for Delfín S.C., Delfín in the Ecuadorian Serie A and the Ecuador national football team, Ecuador national team. Club career Banguera attracted attention early in his career while playing for Club Deportivo ESPOLI, ESPOLI in the Ecuadorian Serie B. 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualification (CONMEBOL)
The South American Zone of 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification saw nine teams competing for 4 or 5 berths in the finals. Brazil automatically qualified for the World Cup as the host nation so were not involved in CONMEBOL qualifying. Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Uruguay advanced to the World Cup. Format The format for CONMEBOL's 2014 World Cup qualifying tournament was identical to the previous four editions. All CONMEBOL national teams played against each other twice on a home-and-away basis in a single group for 4 or 5 allotted berths. The top four teams automatically qualified for the finals. The fifth-placed team competed in the intercontinental play-offs against the fifth-placed team from the AFC's World Cup qualifying tournament. Marcelo Ramón Elizaga Ferrero (born April 19, 1972) is an Argentine-born, naturalized Ecuadorian former football goalkeeper.
