Myyrmäki
Myyrmäki ( sv, Myrbacka), literally meaning "Bog Hill", is a district and major region of the municipality of Vantaa, Finland. The district has an area of and a population of about 17,000, making it the most populous district in Vantaa. It is home to Myyrmanni, a large shopping complex. The Myyrmäki major region consists of 11 districts with a total population of 52,267 (as of 1.1.2014), making it the most populous major region in Vantaa. The area is served by the Myyrmäki and Louhela stations on the I and P lines of the Helsinki commuter rail network. Just to the south-east is Malminkartanonhuippu, an artificial hill which is the highest point in Helsinki. Myyrmäki Church
Myyrmäki Church ( fi, Myyrmäen kirkko, sv, Myrbacka kyrka), is a Lutheran church in the Myyrmäki neighborhood in the city of Vantaa. It is located near Louhela commuter train station. The church was designed by architect Juha Leiviskä and it was opened in 1984. It is also known as the Church of Light. In Leiviskä's own words: "To me, a building as such, 'as a piece of architecture', is nothing. Its real significance is revealed in counterpoint with its surroundings, with life and with light." In addition to the actual sanctuary, the building houses a separate chapel, two meeting halls, the parish offices, and facilities for children’s and young people’s ministries. The sanctuary seats 450, but with the adjoining meeting halls the capacity is over 700. Vantaankoski Parish is one of seven Evangelical-Lutheran parishes in Vantaa with a membership of c. 30,000. Louhela Railway Station
Louhela railway station ( fi, Louhelan rautatieasema, sv, Klippsta järnvägsstation) is a VR commuter rail station located in Vantaa, Finland. It is approximately thirteen kilometres north of Helsinki Central railway station. The station is served by circular lines I and P, and is between the stations of Myyrmäki and Martinlaakso. There are two platforms serving both north and southbound trains, one lift and a waiting room. Many local bus connections are available nearby. Myyrmäki (Finnish) or Myrbacka (Swedish) is a Helsinki commuter rail and bus station located in Vantaa, Finland. It is approximately north of Helsinki Central railway station. The station is served by circular lines I and P, and is between the stations of Malminkartano and Louhela. The station has two platforms, one for southbound and one for northbound trains. There is also a waiting room although ticket sales from the station have recently been discontinued. At the moment the nearest place for purchasing long distance tickets would be Pasila. Energia Areena is a multifunctional indoor arena in the Myyrmäki Sports Park, located in the Myyrmäki district of Vantaa, Finland. The arena gets its name from its largest sponsor, the energy company Vantaan Energia. Events The venue is able to be modified to accommodate corporate, cultural, and concert events, among others, but is best known for its athletic uses. Energia Areena is equipped to host floorball, badminton, volleyball, basketball, handball and futsal practices and games, in addition to gymnastics and cheerleading competitions. Malminkartanonhuippu ( en, Malminkartano Hill, sv, Malmgårdstoppen) is an artificial hill in the district of Malminkartano in Helsinki, Finland. It is located near to the Vihti Road and the Myyrmäki district of Vantaa. With a height of approximately 90 meters above sea level, it is the highest point in the city of Helsinki. The view from the top gives an uninterrupted 360° panorama in all directions, for those who have climbed the 426 steps. One face of the hill includes a giant arrow-shaped artwork pointing upwards and several hundred metres in length. Pähkinärinne (''Hasselbacken'' in Swedish) is a suburb in Western Vantaa, in Finland. It lies roughly between a pond named Lammaslampi and Vihdintie, former Helsinki-Pori main road. It lies near the border between Vantaa and both Helsinki and Espoo.There are basic services, for example, a comprehensive school for students from 1st to 6th forms, in Pähkinärinne. Pähkinärinne neighbours Hämeenvaara, Hämeenkylä, Linnainen, Rajatorppa and Varisto. Pähkinärinne is built in an area of beautiful nature, with the landmark being the pond, Lammaslampi.
