Mystery Show
''Mystery Show'' is a Gimlet Media podcast hosted by Starlee Kine that ran for one season in 2015. In each episode, Kine solves a minor mystery which cannot be solved with search engines alone. It was declared the best new podcast of 2015 by iTunes. Mysteries tackled by the show include the closing of a video rental store and the origins of a peculiar custom belt buckle. During the investigations, Kine frequently veers from the original topic, asking subjects about more personal and philosophical matters. In October 2016, Kine announced though a Medium post and the show's Facebook page that she was no longer working at Gimlet Media and that the network would not be producing a second season of ''Mystery Show''. Starlee Kine
Starlee Kine (born April 8, 1975) is an American public radio producer and writer. She was the creator and host of the podcast ''Mystery Show'', which was done in production with Gimlet Media. Her work has been featured on ''This American Life''. She was a frequent guest on the CBC Radio show ''WireTap (radio program), WireTap''. Her writing has appeared in the ''New York Times Magazine'' and ''California Sunday''. On April 30, 2015, Gimlet Media announced Kine would be the host of its new podcast, ''Mystery Show''. The show's first episode was released on May 22, 2015. In early 2016, she was an artist-in-residence at the MacDowell Colony. Sparks is an American pop and rock duo formed by brothers Ron (keyboards) and Russell Mael (vocals) in Los Angeles. David Thomas Rees ( ; born June 22, 1972) is a humorist and cultural critic. He first rose to prominence as a cartoonist whose best-known work combined bland clip art with "trash talk". Rees later created an artisanal pencil sharpening service and published a related book on the subject. He co-created and hosted two seasons of the television series '' Going Deep with David Rees''.
