Myriam Palacios
Myriam Isabel Palacios Piña (18 December 1936 – 18 March 2013) was a Chilean actress and comedian who worked in theater, film, and television. She was the winner of two Awards for her theater performances. Biography The daughter of Héctor Palacios and Isabel Piña, Myriam Palacios was born in the district of Victoria, Araucanía Region. Her theatrical training took place at the University Theater of Concepción and the Theater School of the University of Chile (1960). She participated in the play ', directed by Raúl Osorio, which was very successful and was performed in several cities in Latin America and Europe. Victoria is a city and commune in Malleco Province of La Araucanía Region, Chile. Canal 13 is a Chilean free-to-air television channel. It was launched on 21 August 1959, on VHF channel 2 of Santiago, in a broadcast led by a group of engineers from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs.
