Myles Kovacs
Myles Kovacs is an American entrepreneur and cofounder of automotive magazine '' DUB'', founded in 2000. He is of Japanese and Hungarian origin and spent his younger years in East Los Angeles. Kovacs graduated from nearby Schurr High School in Montebello, California. After ''DUB'' magazine, Kovacs has branched out in the urban car scene market with a design for custom wheels that seem to spin when a car is stopped and die-cast toy cars that are sold at Wal-Mart, Toys "R" Us and other chain stores. MTV uses him to produce its ''MTV Cribs'' show when it features celebrities' cars. He started with about $10,000 — put together with two partners — and practical experience learned from high school jobs that included delivering customized cars to Los Angeles-area celebrities and writing a newsletter about hip-hop clubs around the nation. ''DUB'', founded in January 2000, is a North American magazine covering urban custom car culture and also features celebrities and their vehicles. The magazine also launched the DUB Magazine Custom Auto Show & Concert, a nationwide car show and concert tour that spans 16 United States cities. DUB now has many licensed goods that include Jada Toys' DUB City die-cast and radio controlled vehicles, DUB Edition car accessories, and Rockstar Games' '' Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition'' video game. The term "DUB" is street slang for custom wheels 20" or larger in diameter and was popularized through hip hop music. Schurr High School is a public high school in Montebello, California, United States, a suburb in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Part of the Montebello Unified School District, it has an enrollment of approximately 3,500 students in grades 9-12. ''MTV Cribs'' (also known as ''Cribs'') is an American documentary television show that originated on MTV and features tours of the private homes of celebrities. It originally aired from 2000 to 2010. In 2017, MTV produced short-form episodes of the program and distributed it through Snapchat Discover. MTV rebooted the show for new full length episodes in 2021. History The first show aired in September 2000. ''The Secret Millionaire'' is a reality television show which originated in the UK, in which millionaires go incognito into impoverished communities and agree to give away tens of thousands of pounds (or tens of thousands of dollars in the US and Australian versions).
