Mykola Babak
Mykola Babak ( uk, Микола Бабак, 10 June 1954) is a Ukrainians, Ukrainian artist, writer, publisher, and art collector; participant of the Ukrainian New Wave; lives and works in Cherkasy. Biography Mykola Babak was born in Voronyntsi, Cherkasy Oblast. In 1971 he finished Melnyky Secondary School. From 1972 till 1972 he served in the Soviet Army. After demobilization he worked as a designer at Azot (Cherkasy), Cherkasy "Azot" Company and at Cherkasy Combine of art-advertisement. From 1979 till 1985 together with a group of other artists he managed monumental projects (paintings, mosaics, stained-glass windows) in the far-east of Russia. In 1986 Mykola Babak came back to Ukraine. Mykola Bazhan
Mykola Platonovych Bazhan (; – 23 November 1983) was a Soviet Ukrainian writer, poet, highly decorated political and public figure. He was an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (1951), Merited Science Specialist of Ukrainian SSR (1966), Merited Art Specialist of Georgian SSR (1964), People's Poet of Uzbek SSR. Career Bazhan was a People's Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union for two of five convocations (1946–1962), and the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR for six of nine convocations (1963–1980). He was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and was elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Ukrainian SSR on several occasions at the party's congresses (17 of and 21 of 25). Mykola Yanovych Azarov ( uk, Мико́ла Я́нович Аза́ров, ; né Pakhlo; Cyrillic: Пахло; born 17 December 1947) is a Ukrainian politician who was the Prime Minister of Ukraine from 11 March 2010 to 27 January 2014. He was the First Vice Prime Minister and Finance Minister from 2002 to 2005 and again from 2006 to 2007. Azarov also served ''ex officio'' as an acting Prime Minister in the First Yanukovych Government when Viktor Yanukovych ran for president at first and then upon resignation of his government. Mykola Petrovych Budnyk ( uk, Мико́ла Петро́вич Будник) was a luthier and traditional performer in the Kobzar tradition. He was active in authentic construction and recreation of historic folk instruments, and involved in the movement for authentic performаnce practice on Ukrainian folk instruments. Budnyk was also known as a painter and poet. He was born in 1954 in Skolobiv, near Khoroshiv, Zhytomyr region, and died January 16, 2001, in Irpin', Kyiv region. He was chairman of the Kyiv Kobzar Guild (Kobzarskyi Tsekh), bandura, known as a master player of folk musical instruments, and as an artist and poet. Mykola Burachek
Mykola Burachek (or ''Buraček'', uk, Микола Бурачек) (March 16, 1871 in Letychiv, Podillia Guberniya (now Khmelnytskyi Oblast) – August 12, 1942, in Kharkiv) was a Ukrainian Impressionist painter and pedagogue. Biography Burachek studied at the Kiev School of Drawing with Khariton Platonov (late 1890s) and with Jan Stanisławski at the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts (1905–1910). He also studied in Paris, in the studio of Henri Matisse (1910–1911). His first exhibition was in 1907. In 1917–1922 he taught at the Ukrainian Academy of Arts in Kiev and then at the Kiev State Art Institute and the Mykola Lysenko Music and Drama School in Kiev. Lieutenant General Mykola Ivanovych Balan ( uk, Микола Іванович Балан) is a Ukrainian military official. He was commander of the National Guard of Ukraine. Biography Balan is a native of western Ukraine who in 1992 graduated the Saratov Higher Military Command School of the Red Banner of Feliks Dzerzhinsky of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union. In 2003 he also graduated the Khmelnytskyi National Academy of the Border Troops of Ukraine. Balan graduated with honors from the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. Mykola Petrovych Bakay ( uk, Микола Петрович Бакай) (2 March 1931 – 28 July 1998) was a Ukrainian singer, composer, poet, author and Soviet dissident. Biography Bakay was born in the village of , in the Pokuttia region, which was at that time under Polish rule. Due to the outbreak of World War II he was only able to finish seventh class. In 1947, Bakay together with his family was deported to Siberia. He attempted to escape twice, but was not able to succeed. As punishment he was forcefully settled to work at the logging sites and factories near Omsk. There he studied at the local music school of Vissarion Shebalin and later worked as an actor at the Omsk Theater of Operetta. Bakay returned from the forced settlement in 1960. He moved to Chernivtsi, where he began singing in the Bukovina ensemble of song and dance.
