Myaungmya District
Myaungmya District ( my, မြောင်းမြခရိုင်) is a district of the Ayeyarwady Division in south western Myanmar. It consists of 5 cities. Myaungmya is the chief town of the district. Myaungmya district was formed in 1893 out of a portion of Bassein district, and reconstituted until 1903. It has an area of and a population of 280,000 and density of 104 inhabitants to the square mile. The district is a deltaic tract, bordering south on the sea and traversed by many tidal creeks. Rice cultivation and fishing occupy practically all the inhabitants of the district. Ayeyarwady Division
Ayeyarwady Region ( my, ဧရာဝတီတိုင်းဒေသကြီး , , ; formerly Ayeyarwady Division and Irrawaddy Division), is a region of Myanmar, occupying the delta region of the Ayeyarwady River (Irrawaddy River). It is bordered by Bago Region to the north, Bago Region and Yangon Region to the east and the Bay of Bengal to the south and west. It is contiguous with the Rakhine State in the northwest. Myaungmya Township ( my, မြောင်းမြမြို့နယ် ) is a township of Myaungmya District in the Ayeyarwady Region of Myanmar. The principal town is Myaungmya. It has an area of 444.9 mi2 (1,152.2 km2). Myaungmya has high Karen population, comprising 40.3% of the population in 2019. Among the population were about 40,739 Christians, mostly Karens. Einme Township
Einme Township (; ) is a Townships of Myanmar, township of Myaungmya District in the Ayeyarwady Region of Myanmar. The area is believed to be where the Battle of Naungyo took place in 1539. Einme Township is one of the few townships in the Bamar people, Bamar-majority Administrative divisions of Myanmar#Regions, States, and Union Territory, regions of Myanmar that is not Bamar majority itself. Instead, Karen people comprise 52.67% of the township’s population. The principal town is Einme. Districts ( my, ခရိုင်, Kharuing; ) are the second-level administrative divisions of Myanmar. They are the sub-divisions of the States and Regions of Myanmar. According to the Myanmar Information Management Unit (MIMU), as of December 2015, there are 76 districts in Myanmar, which in turn are subdivided into townships, then towns, wards and villages. The District's role is more supervisory as the Townships are the basic administrative unit of local governance. A District is led by a District Administrator, a civil servant appointed through the General Administration Department (GAD) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA).
