Myanmar Women's National Football Team
Myanmar women's national football team is a female association football team representing Myanmar and controlled by Myanmar Football Federation (MFF). History Myanmar played the first game in 1995, against the Philippines, which Myanmar drew 1–1 in the 1995 Southeast Asian Games. Since then, Myanmar, like North Korea, has received more money from the state and improved its game. In 2005, the country was one of seven teams that included Brunei, Thailand, Indonesia, East Timor, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Burma and Singapore, that were expected to field a women's football team to compete at the Asian Games in Marikina in December. Myanmar first took part in the 2003 AFC Women's Championship held in Thailand, and has since qualified five times, but Myanmar has neither progressed beyond the group stage in the tournament. Myanmar Football Federation
The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) ( my, မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ ဘောလုံး အဖွဲ့ချုပ်) is the governing body of association football, football in Myanmar. The MFF oversees the Burmese Myanmar national football team, men's national team, the Myanmar women's national football team, women's national team, and youth national teams as well as national football championships and professional club competitions. 2010 AFC Women's Asian Cup
The 2010 AFC Women's Asian Cup was held from 19–30 May at the Chengdu Sports Centre in China PR. The winners, Australia, runners-up, Korea DPR, and third-place team, Japan qualified for the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup. With this victory, Australia women's had become the first ever national team to win in two different confederations, having won the OFC Women's Nations Cup three times before. Their success was later followed by their fellow men's team at the men's tournament less than 5 years later. San Thaw Thaw (born 9 January 2001) is a Burmese footballer who plays as a forward for the Myanmar women's national team.
