''My Special Love'' is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter La Toya Jackson. Released in 1981, the album peaked at #175 on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart. After the album's limited success, it fell into obscurity, receiving a limited re-release on CD in Japan in the early 1990s, which was quickly deleted. The album was the rarest album from LaToya but was re-released on CD in 2019 by Cherry Pop Records including several bonus tracks, among them "If You Feel the Funk" (7" Version) from her debut solo album. Background Allmusic called it "the defining album of Jackson's career", also stating that "Though her voice isn't particularly strong, Jackson makes up for what she lacks in power with an energetic, uninhibited approach to the music. La Toya Jackson
La Toya Yvonne Jackson (born May 29, 1956) is an American singer and television personality. The fifth child and middle daughter of the Jackson family, Jackson first gained recognition on the family's variety television series, ''The Jacksons'', on CBS between 1976 and 1977. Lani Hall (born November 6, 1945) is an American singer, lyricist, and author. From 1966 to 1971 she performed as lead vocalist for Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66. In 1972 Hall released her first solo album, ''Sun Down Lady''. "If You Feel the Funk" is the debut single from American singer La Toya Jackson. It was released in 1980 on Polydor Records, and is from Jackson's self-titled debut album (1980). It was released in three versions, with "Are You Ready?", "Lovely Is She" and " Night Time Lover" on the B-side (all three were album tracks; "Night Time Lover" was later released as a single). The single narrowly missed the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at number 101. However, it peaked at number seventeen on ''Billboards Disco Top 100 chart and number forty on the ''Billboard'' Hot Soul chart. Bruce Roberts is an American singer and songwriter. His songs have been recorded by such artists as The Pointer Sisters, Donna Summer, Barbra Streisand, Jeffrey Osborne, Whitney Houston and Laura Branigan.
