"If You Feel the Funk" is the debut single from American singer La Toya Jackson. It was released in 1980 on Polydor Records, and is from Jackson's self-titled debut album (1980). It was released in three versions, with "Are You Ready?", "Lovely Is She" and " Night Time Lover" on the B-side (all three were album tracks; "Night Time Lover" was later released as a single). The single narrowly missed the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at number 101. However, it peaked at number seventeen on ''Billboards Disco Top 100 chart and number forty on the ''Billboard'' Hot Soul chart. Outside the US, "If You Feel the Funk" reached #42 in Germany, #13 in the Netherlands, and #9 in Belgium. Jackson performed "If You Feel the Funk" as well as "Are You Ready" on the November 8, 1980 episode of ''Soul Train''. La Toya Yvonne Jackson (born May 29, 1956) is an American singer and television personality. The fifth child and middle daughter of the Jackson family, Jackson first gained recognition on the family's variety television series, ''The Jacksons'', on CBS between 1976 and 1977. Thereafter, she saw success as a solo recording artist under multiple record labels in the 1980s and 1990s, including Polydor, Sony Music and RCA, where she released nine studio albums over the course of 15 years. Her most successful releases in the United States were her self-titled debut album (1980) and the 1984 single "Heart Don't Lie". The Dutch Top 40 ( nl, Nederlandse Top 40) is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Joost den Draaijer initiated the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The show currently airs on Fridays from 2 to 6 PM on Qmusic. ''Der Musikladen'' (german: The Music Shop) was a West German music television programme that ran from 13 December 1972 to 29 November 1984. The show continued the 1960s ''Beat-Club'' under a new name, and in turn was replaced by ''Extratour''. History Around 90 episodes were aired, plus 59 as ''Musikladen extra'' with most being made in the period between 1974 and 1979. All episodes were produced by Radio Bremen and directed by Michael Leckebusch. A normal episode of ''Musikladen'' usually featured several live performances by guest musicians, and ran around 45 minutes. Some episodes were longer, and a few were shorter.
