MxPx (album)
''MxPx'' is the thirteenth studio album by American rock band MxPx self-released on July 25, 2018. The band used the crowd-funding website Kickstarter and exceeded their $50,000 goal by over $200,000. A month before the album's release, MxPx released a music video of "Let's Ride." A deluxe edition of the record was also released, containing the original track listing along with four bonus songs and acoustic versions of five of the original tracks. "Let's Ride" was included in the 2020 video game ''Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2''. Production and recording Herrera tweeted on March 29, 2018, that MxPx is working on their 10th album. A Kickstarter campaign was launched that same day. To pay for the album, they would sell exclusive merchandise to fans through Kickstarter. MxPx () is an American pop punk band from Bremerton, Washington, founded in 1992 as Magnified Plaid. As of 2016, current members include Mike Herrera on lead vocals and bass guitar, Yuri Ruley on drums and percussion, Tom Wisniewski on lead guitar and backing vocals and Chris Adkins on rhythm guitar and backing vocals. The band's discography includes twelve studio albums, four EPs, four compilation albums, a live album, a VHS tape, a DVD and 20 singles. Skate Punk
Skate punk (also known as skatecore and skate rock) is a skater subculture and punk rock subgenre that developed in the 1980s. Originally a form of hardcore punk that had been closely associated with skate culture, skate punk evolved into a more melodic genre of punk rock in the 1990s similar to pop punk. Michael Arthur Herrera is an American singer, songwriter and musician best known as the lead vocalist, bassist and songwriter for the punk rock band MxPx. He is also the frontman of Tumbledown and the bassist of Goldfinger. Early life Herrera was born in Bremerton, Washington to Art and Michele Herrera and is of Mexican and English / Welsh descent. He is the middle of three children and has an older sister and a younger sister. His parents live in Bremerton in the house he grew up in. He grew up playing guitar, inspired by listening to country and punk rock music. Herrera started MxPx while he was in high school with friends Andy Husted and Yuri Ruley with the band's first performance in his back yard.
