Muthesius Academy of Art (German: ''Muthesius Kunsthochschule'') is an art school and is located in the city of Kiel in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The school was named for architect Hermann Muthesius. The school was founded in 1907 as an Arts and Crafts (movement) and handicraft school, the current version of the school including the name and art school status started in 2005. Albert-Jan Pool (born 1960) is a Dutch type designer and educator. Biography Albert-Jan Pool was born in 1960 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. Arnold Dreyblatt (born 1953) is an American composer, performance artist and visual artist. Biography Arnold Dreyblatt was born in 1953 in New York City. His mother, Lucille Wallenrod (1918–1998), was a painter. He started his studies at Wesleyan University in the 1970s and transferred to the Center for Media Study at the University at Buffalo. In 1982, Dreyblatt obtained a master's degree in composition from Wesleyan University; his thesis was titled, "Nodal Excitation". Gottfried Waldemar Brockmann (1903 – 1983) was a German artist, educator, publisher, and served as a cultural advisor for the city of Kiel, Germany. He taught at Muthesius Academy of Art in Kiel. Early life and education Gottfried Brockmann was born on 19 November 1903 in the Lindenthal district in Cologne, Germany. He was the son of painter Hans Waldemar Brockmann. Ingrid M. Schmeck (born 1944) is a German visual artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. Biography Ingrid Schmeck was born 1944 in Poznań, Reichsgau Wartheland (present-day Poland). She was raised in Eckernförde, Germany. Schmeck studied at the Muthesius Academy of Art in Kiel in book arts, between 1962 and 1967; and between 1971 and 1973 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg.
