''Music on the Run'' (Italian: ''Fuga a due voci'') is a 1943 Italian " white-telephones" musical comedy film directed by Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia and starring Gino Bechi, Irasema Dilián and Guglielmo Barnabò.Burke p.381 The film's sets were designed by the art directors Alfredo Montori and Mario Rappini. It was shot at Cinecittà Studios. Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia
Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia (8 July 1894 – 4 January 1998) was an Italian film director whose career spanned from the 1930s to the mid-1960s. He mainly directed adventure pictures and popular comedies, including some starring Totò. His 1942 film ''Non ti pago!'' was shown as part of a retrospective on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. Biography Bragaglia was born in Frosinone, Latium, and was a veteran of World War I. He was wounded in action, and subsequently received a medal. Upon his discharge, Bragaglia and his brother Arturo began to experiment with photography. He later connected with Anton Giulio, another brother, to found the Casa d'arte Bragaglio. The establishment quickly became a popular attraction for Rome artists. Bragaglio then founded an independent theater and launched his theatrical career. Paolo Stoppa
Paolo Stoppa Knight Grand Cross (6 June 1906 – 1 May 1988) was an Italian actor. Biography Born in Rome, he began as a stage actor in 1927 in the theater in Rome and began acting in films in 1932. As a stage actor, his most celebrated works include those after World War II, when he met director Luchino Visconti: the two, together with Stoppa's wife, actress Rina Morelli, formed a trio whose adaptations of works by authors such as Chekhov, Shakespeare and Goldoni became highly acclaimed. He gave to the theater a personal touch with his energetic play. Franco Volpi (11 July 1921 – 1 January 1997) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Born in Milan, Volpi formed at the Accademia dei Filodrammatici and debuted on stage in 1938, aged 17, in the company held by Renzo Ricci and Laura Adani. He often worked with Ernesto Calindri, on stage, on television and in a popular series of commercials. He is regarded as one of the early stars of Italian television miniseries (the so-called "sceneggiati"). Volpi died of a tumour in Rome, on 1 January 1977, at the age of 75. Ferdinand Guillaume (1887–1977) was a French-born Italian actor and film director. He is often known by his stage name Polidor. In 1910 after working for years in the family circus, he and his brother Natale were hired by Cines Studios where he starred in over a hundred comedy silent shorts billed as the character Tontolini.
