Mylène Jeanne Gautier (; born 12 September 1961), known professionally as Mylène Farmer (), is a Canadian-born French singer, songwriter, occasional actress, writer, and entrepreneur. Having sold more than 30 million records in France, she is among the most successful recording artists of all time in that country. She holds the record for the most number one hit singles in the French charts, with twenty-one to date – eight of which were consecutive. Abel Ferrara
Abel Ferrara (born July 19, 1951) is an American filmmaker, known for the provocative and often controversial content in his movies and his use of neo-noir imagery and gritty urban settings. A long-time independent filmmaker, some of his best known movies include '' Ms .45'' (1981), ''King of New York'' (1990), ''Bad Lieutenant'' (1992) and '' The Funeral'' (1996). Fourth single from her fourth album '' Anamorphosée'', it was released on 1 July 1996. It was a relative failure: indeed, it failed to reach the top ten in France and was the least-selling single from the album. Background In June 1996, Farmer continued her concert tour through France that she had begun on 25 May, while her fourth studio album '' Anamorphosée'' was a success despite a lack of promotion. However, on 15 June, the singer fell at her concert in Lyon and broke her wrist, forcing her to stop her tour. "L'Instant X" (English: "The X Moment") is a 1995 song recorded by the French artist Mylène Farmer. It was the second single from her fourth album '' Anamorphosée'' and was released on 12 December 1995. Directed by Marcus Nispel in New York, the music video humorously depicts the apocalypse and shows Farmer bathing in foam. The song became the biggest hit from the album, reaching number six in France. In January 2004, the song was the subject of a remix produced by One-T and was released as promotional single. ''Dance Remixes'' is the first remix album by Mylène Farmer, released on 23 November 1992. Release, writing and release Rather than a simple compilation, the album contains two CDs in its French version, including the remixes of fifteen songs on the singer. These remixes, all made by Laurent Boutonnat and Thierry Rogen (for the latter, it was his last collaboration), have mostly been published previously as vinyl's B-sides of Mylène Farmer's singles, except "We'll Never Die" (Techno Remix) and " Libertine" (Carnal Sins Remix), made for the occasion, as the "Extended Dance Remix" of the new song " Que mon cœur lâche". This song, whose video was directed by Luc Besson, was the only single released to promote the album, and the last vinyl of the singer.
