Museum Autovision
Museum Autovision is a museum for cars, motorcycles, bicycles (most of which were built by NSU Motorenwerke AG) and alternative propulsion in Altlußheim, a small town in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The exhibits include the original equipment from an NSU workshop from the 1920s. The museum also has a display of more than 80 Wankel engines; on display are also a dozen cars and three bicycles with Wankel engines. This also includes a cut-away model of the NSU Ro 80. For owners of electric cars a solar filling station is maintained. Science arena The museum also has metal models that allow car parts such as engine, automatic transmission and differential to be traced, and metal models on power transfer. Finally, boxes are available for scientific experiments with prepared topics. There are about 50 moveable models that allow visitors to conduct interactive physics experiments under real conditions. Hercules Wankel 2000
The Hercules W-2000 is a motorcycle which was made by Hercules in Germany. It was the first production motorcycle with a Wankel engine. It was designed in the late 1960s, first shown at a German trade show (Internationale Fahrrad und Motorrad-Ausstellung IFMA - the International Bicycle and Motorcycle show ) in 1970; the prototype had a Sachs KM-914 engine and a BMW 250 gearbox and shaft transmission; production started in 1974. Production halted in 1977 after 1,800 were built, sales were 40 units (a month) under the profit threshold. The tooling was sold to Norton Motors. Development Fichtel & Sachs, which became Hercules's parent company, was the second licensee of the Wankel engine, on Dec 29, 1960, and Sachs was the first motorcycle manufacturer with a license. The Rhein-Neckar-Kreis is a district in the northwest of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The administrative headquarters are based in the city Heidelberg, which is a district-free city.
