Murrumbeena is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 13 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Glen Eira local government area. Murrumbeena recorded a population of 9,996 at the 2021 census. Murrumbeena is a small suburban area with extensive parklands and a rich artistic heritage. It has multiple commercial zones featuring services and cafes, including: Murrumbeena Village, nearby the train station; Poath Road; North Road; and Murrumbeena Road nearby the Beauville Estate and Duncan McKinnon Reserve. Toponymy The name "Murrumbeena" derives from the Aboriginal wordmirambenaā€¯ It may have meant "land of frogs", "moss growing on decayed wood" or it may be a derivative from the name of an Aboriginal elder. Town Hall Railway Station, Melbourne
Town Hall railway station (originally known by the working title of CBD South) is a railway station currently under construction as part of the Metro Tunnel project. It is being built below Swanston Street between Flinders and Collins Streets. Design Initially it was planned to build the station using the cut-and-cover method, however this was changed so that the tunnels would run deeper underneath the ground in order to not disturb services, utilities and businesses on Swanston Street. Construction commenced in 2018 with the station expected to open in 2025. Anzac Railway Station
Anzac railway station (originally known by the working title of Domain) is a railway station currently under construction as part of the Metro Tunnel. The station is named for the nearby Shrine of Remembrance and in honour of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, Anzac spirit of service and sacrifice. It is being built using the Tunnel#Cut-and-cover, cut-and-cover method. Construction on the station commenced in 2018 and is expected to open in 2025.
