Semple Stadium
The Semple Stadium is the home of hurling and Gaelic football for Tipperary GAA and for the province of Munster. Located in Thurles, County Tipperary, it is the second largest GAA stadium in Ireland (after Croke Park), with a capacity of 45,690. Over the decades since 1926, it has established itself as the leading venue for Munster hurling followers, hosting the Munster Hurling Final on many memorable occasions. Facilities The main or 'Old Stand' of the ground (also known as the 'Ardán Ó Coinneáin' or 'Dr Kinane Stand') lies across from the 'New Stand' (also known as the 'Ardán Ó Riáin') both of which are covered. Brendan Bugler
Brendan Bugler (born 1985) is an Irish hurler who played as a right wing-back for the Clare senior team. Bugler made his first appearance for the team during the 2007 National League and became a regular player over the last few seasons of his playing career. During that time he has won one All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, one National League (Division 1B) medal, one Waterford Crystal Cup medal and two All-Star award. At club level Bugler plays with Whitegate. He served as a Wexford senior hurling team selector under the management of Davy Fitzgerald from October 2019, replacing Stephen Molumphy. Tipperary County Hurling Team
The Tipperary county hurling team represents Tipperary in hurling and is governed by Tipperary GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. Pádraic Maher
Pádraic Maher (born 9 February 1989) is an Irish former hurler who previously played for Tipperary Senior Championship club Thurles Sarsfields and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lined out as a centre-back. Playing career Thurles CBS Maher first came to prominence as a hurler with Thurles CBS. He played in every grade before eventually joining the senior hurling team as a 15-year-old. On 12 March 2005, Maher lined out at full-back when Thurles CBS suffered a 1-11 to 1-06 defeat by St. Flannan's College from Ennis in the Harty Cup final. Garda College As a student at the Garda Síochána College in Templemore, Maher immediately became involved with the college's senior hurling team. The Limerick county hurling team represents Limerick in hurling and is governed by Limerick GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Tom Condon (born 9 November 1987) is an Irish hurler who plays for Limerick Intermediate Championship club Knockaderry. He is a former player with the Limerick senior hurling team, with whom he usually lines out as a right corner-back. Playing career Knockaderry Condon joined the Knockaderry club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels before joining the club's top adult team. Shane O'Neill (hurler)
Shane O'Neill (born 1 March 1986) is an Irish hurler who plays as a right corner-back for the Cork senior team. Born in Bishopstown, Cork, O'Neill first played competitive hurling whilst at school in Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior team as a member of the extended panel during the 2005 championship. Since then O'Neill has become a regular member of the starting fifteen and has won one Munster medal on the field of play. He has been an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. Anthony Nash (hurler)
Anthony Nash (born 12 October 1984) is a retired Irish hurler who played for the Kanturk and Limerick Championship Club South Liberties clubs. He played for the Cork senior hurling team for 15 seasons, during which time he lined out as a goalkeeper. Nash began his hurling career at club level with Kanturk. He broke onto the club's top adult team as a 16-year-old in 2001 and, after winning Intermediate and Premier Intermediate championship titles, he enjoyed his greatest success in 2018 when he claimed an All-Ireland Club Championship winners' medal in the intermediate grade. Nash's prowess also saw him being selected for divisional side Duhallow, Cork Institute of Technology and University College Cork, with whom he won a Fitzgibbon Cup medal in 2009. Railway Cup
The GAA Interprovincial Championship ( ga, An Corn Idir-Chúigeach) or Railway Cup (''Corn an Iarnróid'') is the name of two annual Gaelic football and hurling competitions held between the provinces of Ireland. The Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster GAA teams are composed of the best players from the counties in each province. The games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Railway Cup was a revival of the Railway Shield which ran from 1905 to 1907 (football) and from 1905 to 1908 (hurling). The first Railway Cup competitions (the name is due to the donation of the trophy by Irish Rail) were held in 1927, with Munster winning the first football title and Leinster winning the first hurling title.
