Mumbles Rangers Football Club is an amateur Welsh football team based in Mumbles, Swansea, Wales. They play in the West Wales Premier League which is in the fourth tier of the Welsh football league system. History Formed in 1950 by Billy Johns, BEM, the team played in the Swansea Senior Football League until the 2020–21 season when the club joined the newly formed tier 4 West Wales Premier League. On 9 June 2022, it was announced that the club had been promoted to the tier 3 Ardal SW League for the 2022–23 season. They were relegated at the end of their first season at tier 3. Mumbles
Mumbles ( cy, Mwmbwls) is a headland sited on the western edge of Swansea Bay on the southern coast of Wales. Toponym Mumbles has been noted for its unusual place name. The headland is thought by some to have been named by French sailors, after the shape of the two anthropomorphic islands which the headland comprises: the word "Mumbles" may be a corruption of the French ''les mamelles,'' meaning "the breasts". The West Wales Premier League (known for sponsorship reasons as ''The Macron West Wales Premier League'') is a football league in Wales, at tier 4 of the Welsh Football Pyramid in South West Wales under the control of the West Wales Football Association. The league consists of teams having their grounds and headquarters West of a line drawn from Briton Ferry, Neath, northwards to Glynneath, and then again northwards to the boundary line of the South Wales Football Association. The Welsh football league system (or pyramid) is a series of football leagues with regular promotion and relegation between them. While most Welsh clubs play in the Welsh pyramid and most clubs in that pyramid are Welsh, five Welsh clubs play in England, and four English clubs play in Wales. The Ardal Leagues are a football league in Wales. The word "ardal" translates as "district" in English, with Wales split into four regions at this level. They have clubs with amateur/semi-professional status and sit at the third level of the Welsh football league system. The first year of their operation would have been 2020–21 but the 2020–21 Ardal North East season, 2020–21 Ardal North West season, 2020–21 Ardal South East season and 2020–21 Ardal South West season were all cancelled.
