Muhammad Izhar Ul Haq
Muhammad Izhar ul Haq (born 14 February 1948) is a poet of Urdu language, a columnist and analyst from Pakistan. He has received national and international recognition for his contribution to Urdu literature and journalism, and has been awarded various literary and national awards, including Pakistan's highest civil award Pride of performance in 2008, for his services in the field of literature and poetry. He has published five books of Urdu poetry and writes column in Daily 92 News, under the title "Talkh Nawai (تلخ نوائ)". Attock
Attock ( Punjabi and Urdu: ), formerly known as Campbellpur (), is a historical city located in the north of Pakistan's Punjab Province, not far from the country's capital Islamabad. It is the headquarters of the Attock District and is 61st largest city of Pakistan by population. The city was founded in 1908 several miles southeast of the older city of Attock Khurd, which had been established by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in the 16th century, and was initially named in honour of Sir Colin Campbell. Etymology The city was initially named Campbellpore, also spelt Campbellpur, in 1908 in honour of Sir Colin Campbell. The name was changed to Attock in 1978, its original name, which literally means "Foot of the Mountain." Syed Hussain Sibt-e-Asghar Naqvi, commonly known as Jaun Elia ( ur, , 14 December 1931 – 8 November 2002), was an Indo-Pakistani poet, philosopher, biographer, and scholar. One of the most prominent modern Urdu poets, popular for his unconventional ways, he "acquired knowledge of philosophy, logic, Islamic history, the Muslim Shia tradition, Muslim religious sciences, Western literature, and Kabbala." Early life Jaun Elia was born as Syed Sibt-e-Asghar Naqvi on 14 December 1931 in Amroha, British India.
