Mudgeeraba ( ) is a town and suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the , the suburb of Mudgeeraba had a population of 13,624 people. Mudgeeraba's essential character remains one of a nineteenth-century village, and contains important evidence of its earlier form and building. Most older houses are situated on large blocks of to , alongside much larger farming properties situated in the area. Geography Mudgeeraba Creek is the major creek of a catchment area in the southern region of the Gold Coast. It is part of the larger catchment area of Nerang River. Bonogin and Wyangan Creeks are tributaries of Mudgeeraba Creek. Since 2005, under the Beaches to Bushland restoration program, Gold Coast City, with the help of Austinville Landcare Group, have worked on restoration of areas of upper Mudgeeraba Creek. Based on the Gold Coast, the district has been held by both sides of politics over the course of its short history. The electorate covers the western suburbs and hinterland of the Gold Coast. Schmidt Farmhouse
Schmidt Farmhouse & Outbuildings is a heritage-listed homestead at 3 Worongary Road, Worongary, City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It was built from 1880s to . It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 8 April 1997. History This farmhouse and outbuildings were constructed in the late 19th/early 20th centuries on land which in the 1850s was part of the Murry Jerry pastoral run, leased by William Duckett White of Beaudesert. The site was subsequently included in the 200 acres taken up by WD White as a pre-emptive selection in 1869, but the present buildings and structures appear to date to a later period, when the land was used for agricultural purposes. It was occupied by the Schmidt-Kurth family, Worongary dairy farmers, from to . Neranwood is a suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the Neranwood had a population of 67 people. History The name ''Neranwood'' is a contraction of the name of the Nerang Hardwood Company which established a sawmill in the area in 1923. Neranwood Provisional School opened on 15 June 1925 and closed on 31 December 1928. A private tramway was built to transport the timber from the sawmill to the railway siding at Mudgeeraba. It had two locomotives called Alison and Kathleen. However, the project was not economically viable and the sawmill and tramway closed in 1928. Local people used the tramway sleepers for firewood. Austinville is a hinterland locality in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the , Austinville had a population of 356 people. Geography Austinville covers approximately 20 kilometres squared and is situated in the Gold Coast Hinterland between Mudgeeraba and Springbrook. Austinville is located in a valley through which flows Mudgeeraba Creek and the rugged Nimmel Range looms in the distance. Significant rainforest exists in the area. Geography Advancetown is situated in the Gold Coast hinterland.
