Moyale Barracks Football Club is a Malawian professional football club based in Mzuzu, currently playing in the TNM Super League, the top division of Malawian football. The club is a military outfit named after Moyale Barracks of the MDF. Moyale is a place and barracks in Kenya where Malawi Soldiers used as a transit camp during World War II. Mzuzu Stadium
Mzuzu Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Mzuzu, Malawi. The stadium is mostly for football matches, on club level by Moyale Barracks FC of the Super League of Malawi and other various sport activities. The stadium has a capacity of 10,000 spectators. Background The Mzuzu Stadium was built in 1970 using prison labor. The stadium has a capacity of 15,000 and is the only stadium in the city of Mzuzu built using prison labor. Incidents In August of 2023, The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) banned the Mzuzu Stadium as well as Civo Stadium of Lilongwe over the poor state of the stadiums' pitch and the bad conditions of the players’ tunnel. The FAM also banned the stadiums due to missing of technical benches and bad condition of the perimeter fence, as well as poor state of dressing rooms, including lack of public address system and poor condition of scoreboard. Mzuzu
Mzuzu is the capital of Malawi's Northern Region and is the third largest city by population in Malawi. The city has 221,272 residents and 20,000 commuters (Mzuzu University students) with about 1.7 million people in its metropolitan area. It is situated in Mzimba District. The Malawian Defence Force is the state military organisation responsible for defending Malawi. 2013 Super League Of Malawi
The 2013 TNM Super League was the 28th season of the Super League of Malawi, the top professional league for association football clubs in Malawi since its establishment in 1986. It started on 27 April 2013 and was scheduled to conclude on 28 December 2013, but officially ended on 18 February 2014. Silver Strikers were the defending champions. The match from the last round between Mighty Wanderers and Silver Strikers was interrupted due to the violence of their supporters. The match was postponed to be replayed for two times, first time on 5 January at Kalulu Stadium and second time on 26 January at the ZACC Ground in Zomba.
