Mountainview Colts
The Mountainview Colts are a junior ice hockey#Junior B, C, D, junior "B" ice hockey team based in Didsbury, Alberta, Didsbury, Alberta, Canada. They are members of the North Division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League (HJHL). They play their home games at Didsbury Memorial Complex. The Colts celebrated their 25th anniversary season during the 2014-15 season. The team won the Heritage Junior B Hockey League Championship after the 2015–16 season. Didsbury, Alberta
Didsbury is a town in central Alberta, Canada at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. It is located next to Alberta Highway 2A, near the Queen Elizabeth II Highway. Didsbury is within the Calgary-Edmonton corridor. Didsbury is approximately the half-way point between the cities of Calgary and Red Deer. Didsbury is surrounded by Mountain View County, which has its municipal office located to the north of the town. The nearest neighbouring communities are the towns of Olds to the north and Carstairs to the south. History The town is named after the township of Didsbury, now a suburban area of Manchester, England. The first settlers were German Mennonites who left their homes in Pennsylvania following the American Revolution and emigrated Waterloo County in Ontario. Calgary Junior Hockey League
The Calgary Junior Hockey League is a Junior "B" ice hockey league based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is sanctioned by Hockey Canada, and operated by Hockey Calgary. Founded in 1945, the CJHL is one of the oldest hockey leagues operating in Alberta. The league champion earns a berth in the Alberta Provincial Junior B Hockey Championship, with a chance to participate in the Western Canadian championship, the Keystone Cup. Teams League Organization The modern CJHL is governed by the by-laws of Hockey Calgary which stipulates that each of Calgary's four community hockey associations operate at least one team. Wainwright Bisons
The Wainwright Bisons are a junior "B" ice hockey team based in Wainwright, Alberta, Canada. They are members of the North Eastern Alberta Junior B Hockey League (NEAJBHL). They play their home games at Peace Memorial Multiplex. History Since the 1990–91 season the Wainwright Bison have three league championships winning in the 2001, 2016 and 2017 playoffs. The victory advanced the Bison to the Russ Barnes Trophy championships which is the Alberta Provincial Jr. B Championships featuring eight teams. The league was established in 1972 as the Edmonton Metropolitan Junior Hockey League. The Cannex Cochrane Generals are a Junior "B" Ice Hockey team based in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. They are members of the South Division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League (HJHL). Red Deer Vipers
The Red Deer Vipers are a Junior "B" Ice Hockey team based in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. They are members of the North Division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League (HJHL). They played their home games at Red Deer Arena until 2016 when it was torn down to be rebuilt. The Vipers played home games out of Red Deer's Collicutt Centre which only sat about 500 with standing room for a season & a half. The Three Hills Thrashers are a junior B ice hockey team based in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada. They are members of the North Division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League (HJHL). They play their home games at Three Hills Centennial Place. The Thrashers hosted the 2008 Provincial Championships and finished with a silver medal. The Thrashers took a one year leave of absence from the Heritage Junior Hockey League, for the 2019-2020 season.
